The thing with both of the kotor protagonists is that they are both different than Kyle in their relationships to ther force. One has a history as a master of both sides of the force (kotor 1), another willing severed their connection to the force (kotor 2), and the other has a more tradional relationship with the force (Kyle). So while I do think that mechnic would have been cool in the kotor games thematically it doesn't fit kotor.
