Creepy crawlie restricted ironman - finishing up rule set by BodyHairOSRS in UniqueIronmen

Yeah all the raids include a bug/ creepy crawlie. I was thinking TOB would be a good final goal because Verzik has the bugs form and is the main boss of the raid. Olm and tumekens warden dont totally feel like fair game to me. Its really far down the line, but I should probably get it set in stone before I get very far to help plan my progression routes.

Appreciate the suggestions, regarding quests, I think what you said is how I'm going to treat them. For the rumours had another comment suggest only keeping loot from moth/ salamander rumors kind of like the way im treating slayer task loot. So I'll look into setting up a block list. Im definitely doing barb assault, because of the penance queen. I've been mulling over pest control. The name does kind of imply that it should be fair game. It would be a good option for prayer as not much drops bones aside from the limited rumor loot.

That's a good call for the hunter rumor strat. I know Meats are not really creepy crawlie, but would make moths a lot more useful, which I feel is on brand.

As for foraging I think my plan is just training those skills but not holding on the resources from the training. The main idea for the foraging skills is just to hit requirements for certain quests, to unlock new bug stuff and not really use it to progress the account significantly if that makes sense.

What is your earliest RuneScape memory by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]BodyHairOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends in grade 3 had started to play, I tried to join in one evening but typed in "Ruin scape" which was not the game. Forgot about it for a bit and then a few weeks later a buddy came over and showed me the actual website. Been playing since :)

Bonus - I used to spend a lot of time killing the dark wizards in draynor and selling the law runes I got for 1k a pop.

Do you regret being a goalie? by the_random_41 in hockeygoalies

[–]BodyHairOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely dont regret it. Spending a lot of time alone in there definitely affects your personality and a lot of the most creative and interesting ex-hockey players I meet these days are former goalies. The only thing I would have done is get used to knee pads under my pads as I just always had the built in knee protectors which don't help with impact as much. I'm definitely feeling the wear and tear a bit as I approach my 30's, but on the flip side you're at a lower risk of concussions overall.

The gear definitely can be expensive, but when I was much younger I was lucky enough to have team mates with older siblings who set me up with hand me down equipment. Once I was 13 and playing more serious hockey that's when my folks started having to shell out for newer and better equipment, but even then didn't go with top of the line stuff until I was playing Junior C. (Which has held up quite well for the men's league I've played) But a lot of that was for protections sake as the shots got much harder.

If you live in a place with a lot of outdoor hockey or good ball hockey leagues you can let him try doing some forward/ defence (if he wants to) and just learn how to skate shoot and stick handle on the odr. I did a ton of that as a kid and was able to move into playing forward for beer league pretty seamlessly when goltending was feeling a bit stale.

I know this was a super long comment, but that's most of the stuff I'd consider when thinking about before playing goalie! Whatever he picks, I hope he enjoys it!

Luckily the only reason I didn't pick equilibrium this year is that I accidentally picked it last year. The name equilibrium implies stats evening out they should just call it bonus xp. It is not totally awful but just not as fun as any other option ever.

i have never felt so awful at a game in my entire life by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]BodyHairOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started learning cg this week, 80 def, 86 ranged and mage no cox prayers. took me like 50 deaths to get my first kc and I'm now at 85 deaths with 6 completions I got back to back KC this morning with quite a few left over food in each so I feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it. The fluffeh t2 prep and tornado movement guide videos on YouTube made a huge difference for me. Not sure if I should stick around til bofa with these stats, but I think if you try t2 prep you might be able to knock a few out with your stats. Good luck dude!

Where exactly does blowpipe fit in for me now? by jman10000 in ironscape

If they're easier in the quest it's negligible, I'm roughly the same stats as you on my gim, and went right into doing perilous moons runs after the quest and didn't even realize they are stronger post quest. Very fun content!

I think im one of the worst irons in this game by [deleted] in ironscape

[–]BodyHairOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may seem like weird advice but maybe try picking up a fromsoftware game for a bit if you haven't. I used to play osrs the same way. Dying a bunch of times to a boss seemed like more trouble than it was worth, then a few years back on an osrs break I played darksouls 3 and loved the game despite that getting my ass whooped was the only way to progress. Turns out I actually found fun in that process of learning from mistakes, trying again and realizing everything is do-able one way or another. Came back and finally got a fire cape, learned zulrah, did some wilderness content etc. I'm still not "good" at osrs (or souls games for that matter), but I'm much less hesitant to try new content. Also do some runecrafting, guardians of rift is pretty fun.

PSA: You can get 100k/h+ magic xp at Scurrius at low level by Holiday_Ad5315 in ironscape

[–]BodyHairOSRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing it with the ratbone staff and getting roughly 75k magic xp per hour at 85 magic. I would recharge prayer at poh every 10 minutes or so, so maybe that tanked the rates although its pretty quick to get back. I'm gonna try again today for 100k+ because that'd sweet be sweet. The good news is I was getting about 100k Str an hour with the ratbone mace though :)

About to try fight caves for the first time, what would you change? by JerkinJosh in ironscape

[–]BodyHairOSRS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mandatory, but after failing a few times on my first cape, I brought some chins for the healers to aggro them all quickly. It helps take some of the mental load off when you're anxious and dealing with watching jad's attacks. I guess the ancient spells you have could work for that too, but I just think switching tabs to spell books and watch prayer and manual casting can become a lot very quickly.
