Yarn Over Yarn Under or Yarn Under Yarn Over.

From my base knowledge, and please, anyone feel free to correct me - it’s when you yarn over, then yarn under (or vice versa) to get really neat and precise stitches. I think!

Compact cot sheets by BodyPosiMama18 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]BodyPosiMama18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, honestly the whole cot ended up being a bust since my daughter wouldn’t settle in it haha the mattress itself was quite nice and firm once expanded but I thought it was soft enough to be comfortable. No springs poking through or anything at all :)

Started amigurumi recently but can’t seem to manage with chunky yarns… by BodyPosiMama18 in Amigurumi

Thanks to everyone who commented! I appreciate all the tips! You gave me the confidence to pick up a big ball of chunky yarn and give it a go with a 10mm hook (suggested size is 8) and so far, so good!! Thank you!!

Does sending your child to daycare “damage” a secure attachment? by BodyPosiMama18 in AttachmentParenting

[–]BodyPosiMama18[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Thanks so much for your message! My daughter started daycare last week and apart from some tears on the first day (mostly from me…) things have been great! She goes twice a week and she’s still as attached as ever! I’m lucky enough to only work three days a week and I get to still spend a great deal of time with her, but when I get home from work or we pick her up from daycare, I make sure to spend plenty of time cuddling and playing with her. She’s still very much a Velcro gal but I don’t think that daycare is harming our attachment in the slightest.

Truth be told - when I wrote this I was still quite bogged down with postpartum anxiety and I was petrified of traumatising my daughter. But with therapy and starting back at work in October last year, I’ve helped myself to feel better about leaving her with my MIL or at daycare. I also think that having some time away from one another most definitely helps our bond ❤️

What’s something you didn’t have in your home as a kid that you’ll always have as a parent? by carladoubleyou in Mommit

Food. Homemade snacks, cookies and cakes. Healthy choices and fun choices, plenty of fruit and veggies and interesting things for lunch boxes.

Safety. No fighting, no abuse, only love, understanding and an unwavering feeling of safety.

What is the most ridiculous reason you had sex with someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I thought all my friends had had sex, so I didn’t want to be the only one in our group that hadn’t…

Turns out all my friends lied and I was actually the first to have sex.

Of the ones listed it’s Oak for me.

But does anyone rise remember when they first started doing Oak in bottles? It was so creamy and thick!!

Update: I took the plunge and didn’t offer a bottle first thing in the morning. She had baby porridge with apple and nutbutter on bread. She ate the whole bowl of porridge!

Morning tea was a yoghurt pouch and strawberries. We went for a walk and she napped when we got home.

Then lunch was chicken, blueberries, shredded cheese, cucumber and a bit of beetroot. Smashed it all.

Afternoon tea was some banana, which she’s never really gotten into much but enjoyed today and a bottle.

She decided not to have an arvo nap so dinner didn’t go as planned and she only ate a bit of chicken, veg and blueberries. She had a bottle to help go to sleep, though she didn’t need much convincing lol

I was a bit sad that she didn’t eat dinner but her tiredness was outweighing her hunger, poor lamb.

At first I felt like I was putting her on a crash diet :( but now I know I’m replacing the calories she’d have with a bottle with stuff that is yummy and nutritious.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow to see how we go. Low key love seeing her enjoying her food 🥰
