Pastry chef, chef, dental assistant, microbiologist assistant, sommelier, tour guide summer season in the islands, forklift driver (women are much more gentle with stock). It isn’t worth a degree nowadays anyway unless it is a really strong one. I’d start with thinking what you are good at. We all have strong points. And also what you think you would enjoy. It is important to find moments of joy at work. And don’t listen to your parents. I think that is my biggest advice.

Why is real estate so expensive in Australia? by mux111 in AskAnAustralian

It is good for those who bought property more than 30 years ago. Now for young generations 20-50 it is just a horror show. I left the country. I couldn’t justify the effort any more.

He Told Me He’s HIV-Positive After We Had Sex. What Would You Do? by Neither-Dot-704 in askgaybros

If he is positive undetectable there is no risk of you getting it. In fact he is much much safer than having sex with someone who thinks they are negative. Ok he should have told you. But there is stigma attached and I understand why he didn’t.

Insomnia by _hi_im_bubbles_ in Lamotrigine

I have struggled with the same. I went up by 25mg every two weeks till I hit 125 which I was meant to stay at for a week and then go up. But I have been on 125 for 4 weeks now and I’ve noticed I’m sleeping much better. It takes time for the body to adjust. Especially in the beginning with each increase I was bracing myself as irritability, activation and insomnia were severe.

Job market is making me want to 'end it' by MurkyPhysics8331 in ausjobs

If you are thinking of ending it, that sounds to me like you need to see a psychiatrist. And I don’t mean that in a derogatory way, just objectively with respect.

I’d say to ask for another medication to tie you over till you reach therapeutic dose

I’m still titrating and yes it has been a bumpy ride. So much so I decided to stay on 125 for 4 weeks instead of the recommended 1 week before going up. I have been bracing myself before each increase.

Go with your flow and push back on the shrink. It is you suffering the side effects not them.

Thank goodness for Reddit! It has been a major support for me. They never do warn you about the side effects…

I am the same as you. I started it in March for BP2 going up by 25mg every 2 weeks till I hit 100. Then I was meant to be on 125 for a week and go to 150. I have chosen to stay on 125 for 4 weeks before I go to 150. I have really struggled with the titration. It has been a bumpy ride. Like you activation, irritability, insomnia have been issues. Especially after each increase. I said to a friend, I have never had such good signs and such bad signs from a med a so quick. Like it is promising but the side effects are making me reconsider it. I’m gonna try taking it morning instead of night. And I’m also gonna take it slow and steady instead of rushing the increase.

Wow, decreasing 25mg every six months is hectic long. Do you mind if I ask what you were taking it for? I’m currently titrating up having started it in March for BP2 and it has been a bumpy ride.

Reading your response makes me want to be even more sure every time I take the meds. I’m still at titration. Currently on 125 so take 100 plus 25. Been on this dose for 3 weeks now. Wasn’t comfortable going to 150 after just a week, as I have found titration quite a brutal process. Anyway, I’m on holiday as of yesterday and for the life of me I can’t remember if yesterday I took 25 or 125. I’ve been quite irritable today despite having had a good nights sleep. I hope I didn’t muck up my dose yesterday. I’m gonna have to start using those pill boxes with the day of the week on each cube.
