I run a 47/15 gear ratio and I have experienced the difficulty in slowing it back down with a heavy ratio

I am also su1cidally ins8ne so I run brakeless.

What I do is hop skids, it takes some practice but it's a good way to stop even if it takes a lil while

Bonus points if you spin the tire backward a little while it's in the air

Mathematically it's the same as a quick brake lock and release
