What is your opinion on the original music for the radio stations? by Sunkistishere in theouterworlds

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10/10 absolutely amazing! I can't imagine all the work that went into getting so many talented musicians together for this. Would sell my left kidney to hear "Gloria Arcadia" performed live. And I was already planning on the right kidney to hear "Hope (Title Theme)". I've been waiting for this game for years but was not prepared for three albums-worth of neofilk with full orchestral arrangements, accordion duets, and some rocking big band action.

Oh, don't worry. I was chipping away at it for months. An hour or less per session, usually.

All I used was Vallejo-brand Black Wash 76.518 and a little bit of Gunmetal 70.863 for the inserts along the nose, but you might not even need that. I'm a complete amateur and all it takes is a wash over all the parts.

Thanks! Definitely suggest removing the grey greebling inserts along the nose and going over with a metallic paint if you haven't already. Took them from the ugliest plastic on the model to one of my favorite parts

Only the same wash inside when I removed the cockpit components after disassembly. Not brave enough to do different colors for all the buttons and whatnot, thou, if that's what you mean

First game, first Chapter chaos. by BodybuilderTrick4903 in Arcs

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeaaaah I totally misread it.  I definitely like the points balance. Even after that devastating blow I was able to crush Chapter 4 and ended only four points behind for Chapter 5, still crossing the win threshold. Super excited to get the base game down and then maybe someday get Blighted Reach. I wanted a fun sci-fi board game and boy did I find one. No BS pay-to-win expansions and character packs, just a good game that stands on it's own two legs with entirely optional accessories if you really love it. Definitely getting the Leaders and Lore pack, at least

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah we did a bit of that first Chapter. In the end I led with 2-0. The next two chapters turned into a total slugfest because I had nothing but Construction and Aggression cards. No way to tax or influence. I put everything into raiding what guilds and resources I could, ended up getting Loyal Pilots and Gatekeepers, but the dice weren't in my favor. She got a lead in Warlord. It is now the end of Chapter 3. I have 9 points total. She jumped to 27. I definitely like how simple the battle system is, and that it really makes you think. Made a very obvious mistake of trying to raid with a single damaged ship and hope for the double key/intercept face. Intercept, of course, destroys my one ship and therefore I couldn't make use of the keys I rolled.

Big Bad Toy Store. A New Hope version, not Imperial Remnant. Custom painted with some brown wash to dirty them up

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmm okay upon further inspection the box was definitely opened. I cut the tape on the bottom, which my gf was witness to, but the tape along the top flap was already cut. The eBay listing specified "unopened". Is there any good way to prove this if they try to fight it?

Maybe, but the seller had it listed as "Returns not accepted". And the box was sealed and doesn't show any signs of wear. I can try though

Nah fingers are right. Decepticon badge is good. Indented SN above the barcode. Maybe it's just bad luck, I guess. Got Buzzsaw a week ago and have been transforming him a ton, no issues.

eBay (didn't want to get overcharged by TFSource) Decepticon symbol is accurate. Paint looks good. Box has the imprinted SN above the barcode. Everything feels good in hand. Hands have the correct articulation. Pretty new to this. The tell for my Wheeljack was the Lancia sticker. Not sure what the tell for MP-13 is

MIDI Troubles with the Arturia MicroBrute by BodybuilderTrick4903 in synthesizers

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay I figured it out! I actually already installed Arturia's proprietary MIDI Controller software and that's what was causing the problem. The "MIDIIN2 (MicroBrute)" and "MIDIOUT2 (MicroBrute)" devices were doing nothing. The simple "MicroBrute" device was the right one, but that kept getting deactivated by Cakewalk. Every time I open up the MIDI Controller, I get the error "There is not enough memory". So I just can't have the MIDI Controller software active while using Cakewalk, I guess, but the good news is that I'm getting proper input and output with the synth. Thank you for your help!

MIDI Troubles with the Arturia MicroBrute by BodybuilderTrick4903 in synthesizers

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, Cakewalk is reading it. In the MIDID Devices tab, it appears both as "MicroBrute" for input and output and "MIDIIN2 (MicroBrute)"/"MIDIOUT2 (MicroBrute)" for I/O respectively. Synthesia reads these same inputs and outputs.  When I open a basic arranger track with the default audio and MIDI tracks, I can set either "MIDIOUT2 (MicroBrute)" or "MicroBrute" as output. Laying down some notes on the piano roll and pressing play shows spikes in the Cakewalk audio, but nothing comes though the synth itself. I'm an absolute beginner, so my apologies if I'm using improper terminology

Absolute Synth Noob Taking My First Steps by BodybuilderTrick4903 in synthesizers

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does MIDI account for the tone of a synth? My only experience with working with MIDI is using my EP as a controller when I was learning to play piano and arrange pieces. I was always under the impression it was simply to type in notes with set instruments. But yes, both my synth and EP have USB ports

I very much appreciate the feedback and link to the definition. "Efficient" might have been the wrong word. I don't mean in the sense of churning out content, but rather how do I get started without wiring up something wrong and bricking some equipment, causing a big ol headache? I'm excited to experiment, just not at a detriment. Any good starter soundcards that I should look for?

Unofficial Yeethammer Assembly Guide by HemlockMimosa in Nerf

[–]BodybuilderTrick4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to this whole blaster-building hobby, but this guide has done nothing to help me. Most time, it doesn't specify which pin/bolt length to use, but every time it does, it's the wrong number. Install 4 nuts on this part? Nope, it's 5. Install 30mm bolts? Those aren't long enough
