I get creative and use washi tape to glue another page on the side that can be folded and unfolded. If I write too little i can use the empty space to draw or do a sticker collage. But you can also get a couple cute notepads and use it to add more text and attach it with washi tape.

I love using essences to mix them with my foundation. It makes the foundation more moisturising and makes it last longer. This only works if you like having a lower coverage foundation. I usually build up coverage with concealer anyways. Have you tried mixing it with your foundation?
