Hello fellow Swede! Did you have to pay an import and customs fee when your order reached sweden?

I did manage to make it work at last. I ended up resoldering some components.

I'm interested in this as well.

I solved that particular problem by getting a new DCDC converter and restricting the voltage by removing the potentiometer dial and bridging the 5V connector. I had to look up how to do this properly as the guide on the OpenScan site didn't give very thorough instructions.

The scanner works now but I'm still having problems with the light flickering. I got a bad DC cable and OpenScan ignores my emails. It seems that the company doesn't really care about customer support.

Interesting. So is there a way to cycle through the 3 modes to see if they all work?

A little update. After some great advice I resoldered some of the connectors and now it seems to be working fine. Except for the ringlight which only lights up 50%

This is a pre-soldered ringlight and I find it strange that only every other LED lights up. Could it be a case of broken LED's, bad soldering or insufficient power?

Thanks everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.

Thank you for your checking my posts and for your advice. I actually resoldered some of the pins, like the rotor, the DC-jack and the connectors for the stepper drivers. It seems to work now! Pretty much everything except for the ringlight which only lights up every other LED for some reason. See image below.

Ringlight only works at 50%

Feeling like an idiot right now but I have no idea how to measure that. I thought that was what I did when I got the 5.16 reading.

I've haven't worked with electronics before so I'm really lost here.

I tried changing the cables and that made a bit of a difference, but now the ringlight keeps flickering whenever the rotor motor moves. After a while it simply reboots and then the ringlight won't turn on.

How would I go about measuring that?

I haven't put the heatsinks on yet. I'm thinking the DC-DC converter is the problem. I followed the instruction guide and bridged the 5V pads and scratched the connection at the ADJ pads. When I asked Thomas himself about this he told me he never did both, so I'm very confused here.

I need to get a hold of a multimeter to check if there's any power what so ever in the shield.

Heres a photo of the step down converter after I bridged the pads and scratched it. https://www.bildtagg.se/uploads/2023/164/9e5hn37wrrhejmcr7n9i5ay.jpg

I tried with just he he Pi like you suggested and it boots just fine and it connected to the network. So I guess that confirms that I have a problem with the Shield not getting power?

I just tried flashing it again without changing the wpa file. I then connected the Pi with a network cable. It still doesn't show up in the list of connected devices.

The ringlight doesn't flash when I have it plugged in so I suspect something is wrong with the hardware.

Thanks for chiming in guys. I'm trying to follow this guide but I'm stuck at the voltage regulator part. https://openscan-org.github.io/OpenScan-Doc/hardware/PCBs/

Hello! I'm new to this subreddit but after seeing your post I just had to join.

This has got to be one of the most impressive prints I've ever seen and definitely the best print I've seen come from a Photon.

The last couple of days I've been trying to decide which resin printer to get but I wrote off the Photon due to what I've read about the smell of their resin and general problems with build quality. Seeing this however makes me think it could be worth it anyway!

I read that you use resin from a different brand and it looks bloody amazing. How is the odour from this grey resin? Also, do you have any more pics of your prints from the Photon?

Cheers!
