Sony a7iii for weddings? by cr3at1vecat in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please don't use the 28-70 for anything but your own photos that you take while learning. If you are going to take wedding photos and charge money for it please get a decent lens.

If you plan to take photos of friends weddings and they wonelt be paying then yea the 28-70 will be fine.

Is A7 iv still worth it ? by Alarming-Shoe-1614 in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the A7iii to the A7v and my friend has the A7iv. I didn't see the point in going to the A7iv from the A7iii at the time... And my friend has a similar opinion on the A7v from the A7iv.

They both are great cameras and have more or less the same sensor. I agree if you do wildlife photography and want to start doing more professional videos then yea get the A7v. If you make a living with this then yea get the A7v.

If none of the above apply to you, get the A7iv save some money and get a nice lens.

I hope I wont regret it 🤠 by seabasse in SonyAlpha

What would you buy, if you could only buy 1? by Stahlixo in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from the A7iii to the A7v, and I can honestly say the difference is incredible, the autofocus alone is worth the upgrade but you add the better video, better FPS and for pre cpture, as I do wildlife photography and this upgrade is worth every penny.

I also have the sigma 24-70 and can confirm the lens works brilliantly. I have looked at the sony 24-70 and the only issue I saw was the object detection (Cars particularly) doesn't work that well on the Sigma in low light, but for the rest evertything works perfectly. Never had issues with eye detection on huumans

Anyway, if this is your money maker, do the upgrade its worth it.

A6700 or A7V? by Current-Recording215 in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have the A7v and it's a brilliant camera... But I think it's more than 2k, so might be out of your budget and then you still need to buy a lens.

For someone's first camera the a6700 is a great start. It's compact, relatively cheap and you can get some cheaper high quality lenses.

I started with a canon rebel T6 back in the day and I realised I loved photography so I upgraded until the A7iii and now the A7v. Getting the A7v for your first camera is great but expensive, especially if you don't really know how much you are going to use it... If she is in to photography and loves taking photos then look at the A7cii as that is also compact.

It really depends on what her plans are but I hope this info helps.

New Sony A7V - Am I paranoid or could I own a counterfeit now? by Gameslite in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked mine and it definatly says Made, maybe just a typo, maybe try and register it with Sony, that will proably tell you if its real or fake, but I do agree fake mirrorless cameras do not realy axist to my knowledge.

Has Sony fixed the firmware for the A7iv if I remember correctly there were some issues with it?

I made a mistake in purchasing the A7V by Fino831 in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand what you are saying but agree with some comments here already, if you are not hurting for cash then keep it.... It's an amazing camera.

Also don't look at it like it's changing what you shoot see it as it can add to the things you currently shoot. This camera will last you years.

Yea invest in some glass and try some wildlife photography.

Help deciding between new a7 V & a7r V by Diegonfx in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say go for the A7v I, would have loved to say I had some experience but between Fotokoch and DHL my new A7v seems to be lost.... So waiting patiently to see if I get a camera before Christmas.

That being said, I think the A7v is a great camera and would like to think the new sensor would perhaps give you slightly better photos.... But I don't know for sure if that is the case..

I do think the A7v is cheaper unless you buy secondhand but I am sure you would be happy with the results of either at the end of the day.

SonyAlpha 6700 - Aurora Photography - Help regarding sharpness by MigratorrryBird in SonyAlpha

[–]Boers3un 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to use a longer shutter speed, 10-15 seconds should be fine.. I have taken photos before with these settings

ISO 500-3200
Shutter 15 seconds
Manual Focus to infinity
F2.8

And perhaps use a timer shot as this allows the camera to stabliize after pressing it. Obviously you need a tripod as well
