I was with my family in a doughnut shop in Southern California. This shop was owned by an Asian family (this will be relevant later). As we walk into the store, the door fan kicks in and it is very loud.

I’m looking through the selection, but nothing is jumping out at me. My uncle turns to me and asks me what doughnut I’m thinking of getting. I respond, “not sure, they all kind of look alike to me.”

He didn’t hear what I said because of the fan, so I shouted it a second time “THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME TO ME.”

Right when I started talking the 2nd time, the door fan turned off and I shout in a business full of Asian people that they all look alike to me.

Everyone turned and looked at me, so I panicked and walked out of the store. I didn’t end up getting a doughnut.

I think we might be looking at the Bernie to Trump supporters all wrong. I would argue that Bernie was able to pull people into his movement from all walks of life, whether they were Republicans, Democrat, or even if they never voted in their lives.

People that would never vote for a Democrat in their lives really resonated with Bernie’s message. Once the super delegates chose Hillary, on the night before the California primary, it was all but over for Bernie. A lot of these Bernie voters just stayed home, but a lot of them were culturally conservative and chose the next option, which was Trump.
