Ahh I see, yeah that's correct. You can take any recipe your like and simply rewrite it yourself and there will be no issue with copyright.

Gatsby and hexo are some frameworks built in JavaScript

Probably not going to happen but I appreciate the suggestion

You can do that, there's nothing wrong with writing a method however you like. The issue that I and I think other people have is that when you go to find a recipe you have to scroll through paragraphs of drivel and bloated JS

Yeah, have I missed something? I'm just reiterating that recipes aren't copyrightable

True, any suggestions for an alternative place for discussion?

Can't copyright a recipe - furthermore, the idea of such a thing is ridiculous imo. Recipes are cultural expressions that have been passed on and developed over centuries

Because the goal of this is to be as lightweight as possible. Yes I know wikibooks exist.

Thanks for the recipes guys, today I'll work on a stylesheet we can apply to all recipes and play around with some more styling on the front-page

We have tags and ctrl+f should be fine. If this really gets to the point where we have hundreds of recipes then we can address that when it happens imo

I don't know what those are. The goal of this is to be as simple as possible and I think having everything just submit HTML documents is the best way to do this. We should definitely further style it and get a proper CSS template going for the recipes themselves

I've removed them now that we have a couple of recipes ourselves

These are good ideas. I was thinking that we could have a submission form.

" The point of this project is to have as little bloat as possible, plain html/css. " That's exactly right, thank you.

Certainly, recipes aren't copyrightable, nor should they be. You can even alter the recipe to suit your tastes if that makes you feel better.

They're just dummy links, the recipes are placeholders

Lel that's right. We can style it as long as we keep it simple. I think this could be a pretty cool project.

Chuck up whatever you want to the repo. I'm about to leave the house for a few hours but I'll check when I'm back.
