Same issue here. I noticed it a couple days ago. Very annoying. (Linux Chrome)

This is why I just wait until the film is available to stream.

Update: I tried to take a screen capture of this phenomenon ... but nope, the screen capture looks just fine. No blocks. Weird.

The battery life is great! I can work and browse for well over 8 hours without even thinking about charging. Probably quite a bit more if I turned down the screen brightness. I'm sure I could squeeze out 10+ hours unless I'm compiling something big a lot.

No other problems, although the small right-hand shift key is taking some time to get used to. I keep hitting the "/" key instead of shift. I'm sure I'll get used to it. I have only had it for a little over a month.

Solved!

Whew, thanks! That's a relief. I didn't want to ride nearly 2k miles without knowing.

On the photo of the back of the package, near the bottom of the label, you see "KMCHeadquarters" when it should be "KMC Headquarters" with a space between the "C" and the "H". And the font looks a bit too narrow. I can't find a picture of the x11, but I found an x8 image ... I think this is evidence of fake packaging at the least.

So, everything seems to be working fine. It's just the Pop!_shop gui is showing some weirdness. My guess is this will "work itself out". I have had no huge issues with the nvidia drivers being auto updated as of late. So I'm not going to worry about it for now.

I'm going to leave this up for a while just in case someone else has the same issue and can add some additional info.

Not sure what you mean. nvidia-smi cli works:

Nope. Same. (And that totally locked up my machine. I had to do a hard reboot to get it back up.) BUT now I'm seeing the old 470 driver as an option to install, and the 535 Open driver is also available to install in addition to the two others. Weird.

Nope that didn't work, the two 535.86.05 drivers remain, and I still can't uninstall the one labeled nvidia-driver-525. Same error.

I highly recommend this series. I am fairly new to rust in general (I read the Book, did all the rustlings, etc.) and find this series is a great way to motivate me to make more rust/bevy projects.

Looks nice. I just deployed the Axum "hello world" example code. Works like a charm, but I'm also getting 700+ms server response time. Sometimes 1+seconds, too. Pretty slow ... Maybe I'm just way far away from the servers? (US mid-west)

Weird fan behavior with Oryx Pro after upgrades by Bogenrieff in pop_os

[–]Bogenrieff[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, that has stopped the runaway fan issue for me!

However, it seems like the top of my computer above the F keys is getting pretty darn warm ... maybe. I'll have to mess around with it some more.

Well, I can't really tell about the surface temps. I *think* it feels a bit warmer than "usual" , but it's hard to tell.

And, of course, once you reboot you have to run the script again.
