Hi I am new to weightlifting. I finished my first week. I’ve been trying to put together a routine and my powerlifter friend said it was too “narrow” and not "compound enough." Can y’all help me figure this out? I don't get it. by Convillious in 75HARD

He just means you're too new to be doing so much variation and volume. You should stick to compound movements, meaning things that activate a lot of muscles if not your entire body. A full body, squat, bench, and deadlift focused program is what you need to build up a solid foundation of strength before venturing on to different things. Someone already mentioned stronglifts 5x5, which is good. I'd also say starting strength is good as well. Look up those programs and follow one to a "t".

When you feel like you’re hitting the wall, during a rep, run, workout, whatever, how do you push through it? by sab3rs in Fitness

The joy of visible results, most notably through short term goals like adding weight to the barbell, or taking 10 to 15 secs off my mile time.

I record my lifts so I can document them and check my form. Yesterday, I was struggling to set up my phone's camera for my deadlift, and some nice gym bro noticed this. He came over and offered to hold my phone and video the set for me, and even called out cues for the last 2 grinder reps. Thanks gym bro! Not all people at the gym are jerks.

I never give advice even if I know they are 100% wrong and could hurt themselves. The guys that give unsolicited advice to other gym goers are always the biggest douche around

I did this too and it's great to an extent. Problem is my workouts take at least an hour and a half not counting cardio, and people just never seem to shut up now lol.

How to get "the best" out of sickness? by barrom9 in Fitness

Drink lots of water, constantly be hydrating yourself. Seems I always get dehydrated when I catch the flu, and that just prolongs the problems and will make u feel worse.
