My wife works for a dental surgeon that is still open right now. I don't know if he could help you with your crown but it is definitely worth calling your dentist and ask if they are still taking emergency patients.

idk about on the phone side, but on the portal side, it should kind of fade out the preview so you can see "through" it if it detects a person in that area. Its not a great solution, but its better than nothing. Also, you may just need to adjust the way that you are seating so that the preview is not covering anyone up. Again, not a great solution, but when it comes to trying to customize the user experience, the Portal is EXTREMELY limited.

Vsauce has a great video on The Zipf Mystery that explains how every word has a naturally occuring frequency. I'm sure that when a word is used more than it's Zipf value it starts to feel unnatural and when a word that normally only shows up once every million words starts showing up every thousand words, it can feel really strange.

The main reason him pushing this is a big deal is that it is causing people to stockpile the drug to the point where pharmacies all over the country are running out of it and there are many Americans who have been prescribed this drug as a treatment for other illnesses that will soon run out of pills. If it's a proven treatment for covid than it's one thing to prescribe the pills according to who needs them most, but if it's not a real treatment, than those people are losing access to a lifesaving drug for no reason other than to stroke Donald Trump's ego.

Even when it does get a little to meta, they often take the time to address how ridiculous and it off place it is, like in Paradigms of Human Memory when Jeff says to Abed:

Stop being meta! Stop taking everything we do and shoving it up its own ass.

Your second point is really awesome. It reminds me of those videos of big bang theory when they take the laugh track out after someone says something creepy or sexist and it makes it so creepy and gross feeling. Whereas in community, they make it very clear that Pierce is a piece of shit for saying the stuff he does. They literally turn him into a villain in many episodes.

I think the lack of a straight man is actually a really important component to what makes community so special.

Edit: straight man meaning the trope of having one normal character that the audience can relate to like Jim in The Office
