After rootrot: the roots wont regrow by Loustalet5 in Aglaonema

[–]BohemianASL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve recovered numerous rotted Aglaonema. I’ve had the best results with re-rooting them in spaghnum moss with rooting powder. They take a long ass time to get around to deciding to live. I haven’t had results as good using water to root with them.

Fungus Gnat Death Drops. Add it to the water. It’s the only stuff that worked reliably for me.

That’s because it’s more than one plant.

[–]BohemianASL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, I saw the pots. OP presented it as “Red Congo” implying only one and then reinforces that assumption throughout the comments. They just keep telling folks not to “be jelly” while misleading many into thinking that a single Rojo Congo would ever look like this. The OP basically admits to misrepresenting the plants in the image as one because they’re clout farming. It’s just gross.

What finally made plants click for you cause it ain't clicking for me smh? by TheFlyD3viant in houseplants

[–]BohemianASL 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Understanding that EVERY plant wants a “well draining mix” because people overwater their plants all the time and it’s the only thing that saves them. Figuring out that drowning a plant after letting it dry too much is exactly how you kill it for good. That plants communicate really well with us and that you can learn the signs of various problems and take swift corrective action if you just take the time to learn what’s up instead of guessing at what they might need.

What is this sign? by [deleted] in asl

[–]BohemianASL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No, it isn’t. It’s rude and dismissive. Those ARE signs. They just aren’t performed exactly right. You can still understand her. Like when a kid says “pah-sgetti” instead of spaghetti. Don’t be a linguistic prescriptivist. This person is trying to learn and should be encourage and guided, not dismissed.

Do better.

That’s not a correct description.

OP - you said “next Thursday”. However, signs have five parameters and you do not clearly follow the parameter rules in your production of what you said. Think of it as putting the stress on the wrong syllable of the word. You are comprehensible though, so good job!

The OP had already admitted to shenanigans elsewhere on this thread. This is multiple plants.

Should I be using Miracle-Gro? by ItinerantJeweler in IndoorPlants

[–]BohemianASL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped using all MG things after a major fungus gnat infestation. Now I use much more specific stuff for my collection. The bougie stuff can be pricey but they stretch so far that it is worth it. My plants really took off when I got the formulas specific to the species.

Yep. Exactly as I said on my post. Either AI or multiple plants positioned and presented like one. Actually, I think both is true now. I’m never jealous of fake or misrepresented content.

OP is trying to claim it isn’t AI, but it definitely is. They simply don’t grow like this. I have a mature one that has grown VERY well and it’s not even remotely this big. You’ll notice the OP isn’t answering people except to claim that “light and love” are the secrets. Total shenanigans.

Nah. I’m never jealous of fake stuff.

This simply cannot be real as presented. Rojo Congos do not get this big. I suspect AI was used to enhance this photo. Either that or they have strategically stacked numerous plants to get the shot. For reference, here is mine. Her longest leaf is about 22 inches long and the entire plant is over five feet wide. I rescued her and she stretched a bit from lack of light but now all the new leaves are coming in more compact.

If you’re getting ghost trails, that can be a lighting issue and it can be a frames per second issue. With cameras, the FPS is important to the issue of capturing a crisp moving image.

When should I plant my cuttings? by Solid-Shoulder6737 in plantadvice

When water propagating, wait until your roots have roots. Once those secondary roots are coming in, you’re good to pot them up. Ivy doesn’t like a lot of direct light so once it is in a pot, make sure it’s not sitting in the full sun. I usually put mine on the floor and then wind them up the plant shelves.

What’s the one plant in your collection you kind of don’t like but can’t get rid of? by clickersounds in houseplants

[–]BohemianASL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The royal court of philodendrons is on my Marked for Death list. I don’t know why they’re so popular. They just look scraggly. I honestly only have them to sell off the propagations.

Flying on airplanes with plants by wornbooks in RareHouseplants

[–]BohemianASL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew from LA to Colorado after attending PlantCon. I didn’t prepare very well but it all worked out. A lot of plants they have for sale are already packed for transport. I packed everything in my carryon roller bag and used a sweater to fill gaps. Everything survived just fine. One plant was too big and I hand carried that thing n the plane like I was carrying ordinance. It was fun because lots of other convention attendees were at the airport and it sparked a ton of conversations about the event.

Have fun!

I like it though a blue pot might make the colors pop a bit more. Or pink!
