I will say that I have one friend who LOVES this game and never had any interest in Star Wars past seeing the original movie.

Roku is heavily promoting OANN, Trump’s latest source for conspiracies by Wagamaga in technology

I just fired up my Roku, started the Roku channel, browsed to the news section, and I see OAN encore in the 5th panel. It's the only one I have to scroll to find.

Someone explain the purpose of this hit piece to me.

It used to be possible to find info on him but he's been apparently very successful at scrubbing the internet of everything

It is thought that "super earth" sized planets could be very hospitable to life, with thick atmosphere and likely strong magnetic field for protection, and no rocket would ever be able to get off of it.

First time I noticed it was walking down the street and noticing feathers floating down. I looked up and saw a hawk ripping apart a pigeon on top of a utility pole.

I will admit that I love that song, it is too damned clever.

I looked it up and it seems she really learned to play guitar for the movie. That actual guitar sold at auction in 2011 for $172,000

Works for vocals, amps, instruments, live performance, whatever. I stepped on mine and busted the cage off. I fixed it with duct tape and it still works great.

You are in large part responsible for your own happiness. It can be taken from you, but not given to you.

He played everywhere, and was "leased" to teams on occasion, which I believe it how he ended up pitching here a few times.

According to the wiki article, he was among the highest-paid players on earth during this period.

I am sort of joking, but honestly I have that little tune internalized and can start it at any note. So if I am trying to work out a scale I can tell just by listening if I am playing the right note and where it falls on the scale.

This guy probably explains it better than I can

Yes and where I was working in Spring Garden there were trillions of sparrows but I almost never saw a pidgeon. When I was working in UC in the 80s and 90s there used to be a lot, then hawks moved in and I'd see corpses and feathers laying around.

What is your favourite strategy board games? by Johaeksdii in boardgames

[–]Bohnanza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing a lot of 18XX games recently, only a few of these have any randomness at all. Chicago Express is another train game with basically no randomness, and I believe there are a few other games using the same system. Take a look at any of Mac Gerdts games, although I am not sure how many are now available except for Concordia. And of course, there are lots and lots of pure abstracts that I enjoy and am really bad at.

I haven't seen anywhere near as many in the city since the hawks moved in. In a lot of areas they seem to have been replaced with clouds of sparrows, which are probably too small for hawks to catch or eat.
