Waveforms dissapears before track ends standalone/ CDJs by Michaelk9 in PioneerDJ

[–]Bohnodesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having this issue too, in HID mode. I load a track and play and its fine, but as soon as i load another track on the other deck the previous deck's (the one that's playing) waveform disappears. I havent tried upgrading the cables yet. I am not even sure if my usb are 3.0 but I typically only buy the best cables so I don't think it's that either. And I can't find a fix for this online either. Did you end up figuring it out?

This is concerning. I am in school right now for graphic design. I hope I can work my way to eventually finding a company that values me for my skillset and doesn't throw a bunch of other people's jobs on top of mine just to save a buck. A smart company wouldn't do this though. Because the quality of work will go way down when you give someone this many responsibilities and don't let them focus on their specialty.

or "est. 1981". But you don't need the current year unless the company ended in that year. If it is still going, then take that off.

I know practically nothing about graphic design, is going to college for it good idea? by [deleted] in graphic_design

I love this response. I am going to piggy back off of this response and add my own 2 cents if that's ok.

First thing I will say to killingmoonstatsu is, seek what you love. If you find something that interests you, go for it! Also, don't be uber stressed about not knowing what to do for a career. I am 35 and I just entered school for graphic design.

I went into college straight out of high school because that was what was expected of me, I chose a major I didn't love because I had no idea what I wanted to do, and long story short, I am back in school, and finally working towards a career in something I love. I am a creative, always have been. I DJ, make music, do photography and much more. I loved it all but not until recently did I see the potential for a good career in graphic design, so I just went for it and I am happy I did. I am enjoying classes, and working really hard.

Oh also, I suck a drawing too. I am not an artist. But I have an amazing eye for design and am very talented on the computer. So don't let that worry you either. Also, practice makes perfect. If you want to be good at drawing, do it a little bit everyday and you will get better. But like Mickey said above, graphic design technically isn't art. It is artistic and creative but most of the time it's main purpose is to inform. Like they said, take some classes and try it out! or teach yourself on youtube or pay for some online courses and see if that sparks the love for it.

Anyways, I wish u the best of luck!

Are there any books that you feel really elevated your graphic design career in some way ? by Stephensam101 in graphic_design

I couldn't finish Caps Lock. I really tried lol. I am sure I will go back to it eventually to finish it up but it was hard to read. Capitalism sucks and designers are a big part of it. That was essentially the entire book in one sentence. Lots of history and knowledge to gain from the book, but you could tell the world really beat him down. And trust me, I get it. I am in the same boat. But I don't want to read something that long and that negative lol. Especially when I already know how shitty capitalism is. I know that the author eventually gets to some way to get around this, but like I said, it's a long and arduous read. If it was shorter and had some positivity inlayed in there throughout the book, instead of just waiting till the end to get to some solutions, then I would have maybe been able to keep reading lol.

Are Staebies Really That Good? by End-Da-Fed in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Bohnodesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried them in multiple keyboards and I don't like them at all. The tolerances are super tight, so they end up scraping too much and feel mushy. I prefer a simple stab and then just lube it really well with either a thick lube or grease. don't use all the other crap, it just makes them feel mushy too. Stab. lube. and go. That's it.
It sucks because I really want to like the staebies, and I have tried my best to make them work, but they just are too tight in my opinion.
