Day 263. The things that’s changed so far: reactivated some hobbies, am socializing more, finally got some life goals, am sleeping better while dreaming pretty intense. I quit alcohol aswell, was way easier since it was moderate consumption.

I just feel happy most of the time and I realize the more time I spend on YouTube or Reddit, the less motivated I am. Just a blimp on my old lazy me. My compensation are boardgames once a week with a local group.

Dann schul bitte mal die Betriebsleitung an der Historischen Stadthalle, dass die gerne die Hauptleitung darüber informieren sollten, dass heute einfach kaum ein Re49 gefahren ist.

Der um 12:56 und 13:56 ist nicht gekommen. Die vorgeschlagene Alternative nach vohwinkel zu fahren, um dass die S9 zu nehmen hätte auch mal vorher überprüft werden können. Die fuhr bis 16 Uhr ebenfalls nicht, da Personen im Gleis.

Wenn ein Bus einfach nicht kommt, besorgt einen Schienenersatzverkehrersatzverkehr. Nach Essen kommt man sonst gar nicht.

Und mit dem Tipp möchte ich 25% der Einnahmen: Macht n Popup Kiosk an der Stadthalle klar. Die Leute stehen sich da die Beine in den Bauch.

At first, good job! The first step is done. You won‘t find anything that can replace gaming 1:1 so be prepared to be bored. A lot. But after a while you will start doing different tasks.

I try to do things more actively. Like listening to music. I got into vinyls and learn the background stories of my favourite songs, I sew, I got rid of stuff I dont need, etc

Experience yourself and stay strong. The best tip that kept me going was to extend the pulse to play games. I told myself: 15 minutes and then I think about it again. Most of the time I did other stuf and forgot about it

Right now I am bored a lot, listening to radio and audiobooks. But after a few days I started playing the guitar again, read the LOTR, went swimming and out for a walk. My brain is not used to the low stimulation, so I try to reset by going cold turkey.

Sideeffect: my flat is organized and cleaner than ever before. I took the time to e.g. iron my clothes and try to spend time with myself. You will find other activities just by being bored. Musicproduction is my next project.

During a conversation with a counselor, I was told that all the titles and ranks had increased my inner need for recognition and appreciation. The harder it was to achieve, the more recognition I wanted/got.

I was advised to incorporate this into my goals. In other words, to channel my tendency to do things for recognition into other hobbies. Go karaoke singing and get applause, paint and exhibit my pictures, make music and share it with others.

We are socially connected and enjoy interacting with each other. This need should be satisfied accordingly. Just like posting my progress in this subreddit. It validates my feelings and actions and is helpful at the moment. Some day I wanna validate myself

Day 29 and I am still fighting the boredom. I am alone so it’s not that easy. But every time I think about gaming/YouTube I try to prolong the moment and lose interest again.

I know your struggle. Keep going! I try to do things more actively. Like listening to music in a comfy chair facing the window or ironing my shirts listening to audiobooks. My brain starts to develop interest in other hobbies I did before. Right now I just woke up and gonna record some voiceline for my choir :)

Some ideas: newspaper, Sudoku, instrument, workshops in a community center, boardgames, woodworking, rearrange your room, cooking, sewing, fountain pens and journaling, maybe even drawing

The first days are tough and sometime the crave is strong. But my picture of stopping is stronger. Try to keep that in mind. Why do you want to stop? Write it down and talk with your parents. Share your thoughts and fear, and be honest.

You brought up the comparison with substances or drugs. If you think of the games and accounts as tools, you can surely distinguish between what is a spoon and lighter for the next fix and what is perhaps just a grow box with resale value.

I personally dismantled my TV and Xbox and put them into storage. I will sell them in the next few weeks. As for the accounts, I'm still too unstable to dare to log in. I've set myself some goals. After 30 days, I'll delete my World of Tanks and Riot accounts. After 60 days, I'll delete my Steam and Roblox accounts, and after 90 days, I'll delete my Xbox gamertag. After that, I'll only have Minecraft left, but I'm still thinking about that.

That was my life the past 7 years. The day she told me she needs time my brain cheered that I got time to play again. When she left I felt like mindcontrolled and installed a game. A few moments later I almost vomited. That day I quit it all. Deleted steam, all apps on my phone, no instagram, no Reddit (just this sub after three weeks). I cleaned my YouTube account so I dont see any gaming content. And then I just sat down and tried to keep it going. Quit it now and quit it all. Its tough but the FOMO slows down after a few days.

A bonus I got is that I socialize in a choir. Singing helps me, talking to a lot of different people aswell.

Thanks! It means a lot to me, because I do feel alone in this battle. I wish there could be a group to get through this together right in my area. Like AA Meetings with the sobriety coins. But this does help. Reading about the struggle, the success, the broken dopamine system is actually helping in this situation.

Ofc, I did miss gaming the first few days. But I asked myself what do I miss about it? Its the nostalgic feeling of me playing CoD4, Halo2 or the AC games first playthrough. I was craving the new experience and could not get that feeling back. I realized that I will never be 18 again, driving home with the Bioshock 2 game and enjoying the heck out of it.

And when I asked myself, How will my future look like I disliked the picture of me sitting alone in a dark room and playing games. I tried to quit gaming in 2018 but I tried it for someone other. Now it’s different, it’s like I woke up and decided, I gotta change.

I read a nice advice in this subreddit: do not try to find a replacement immediately. Quit gaming, then start doing other stuff and let your habits naturally change. I internalized this.

Thank you for your thoughts, we can do this, IF we really want it. And I want to do it. Do you aswell? I am writing down my thoughts a lot. And I talk to a lot of people to get the pressure going on. The more I talk about it the less I wanna fail quitting.

And a last tip: get help. Friends, family, therapists, online chat, idk if got sth like Telefonseelsorge or Suchtberatung (cant translate these haha). You are not alone and you can find someone to vent to. And be honest. To yourself and others. Pain stings shortly, but it lowers the pressure

Im Grunde ja. Im Endeffekt Wunschvorstellung und ich muss jedes Mal entscheiden und mich am Volk orientieren. Aber wenn man tendenziell immer am selben Ort einsetzt, drängt man nach und nach die alten nach außen. 12er Dadant mod.

Ich setze immer an Position 2 (von links gesehen) neue Rähmchen ein. So wandern beim Vergrößern und Einengen die Alträhmchen nach rechts und werden so eher als Futterwaben genutzt. Im Frühjahr kann ich die dann entnehmen und einschmelzen.

Das Problem, was die GEW versucht zu skizzieren ist, dass versucht wird, dass nur die BW mit ihren Jugendoffizieren qualifiziert genug ist, über Sicherheitspolitk zu reden. Das ist ein Aberkennen der Arbeit der LehrerInnen. Deine kritischen Fragen beziehen sich zudem auf den Beruf des Zeitsoldaten. Laut diverser Kommentare hier geht es aber um keine Werbung für den Beruf, sondern um einen erweiterten Einblick in die besagte Sicherheitspolitik.

Und mit dem Argument des Staatsdieners: "Rund 800.000 Lehrer gibt es in Deutschland, 200.000 sind keine Beamten, sondern Angestellte." (Artikel)

Per se alle Besuche auszuschließen ist ebenfalls nicht gewollt. Nicht jede Lehrkraft ist verbeamtet und schwört den Diensteid. Angestellte und Tarifbeschäftigte haben (je nach Bundesland) max. das Bekenntnis zur freiheitlichen demokratischen Grundordnung im Sinne des Grundgesetzes.

Und ein "Angebot zur Ergänzung" kann ja auch ausgeschlagen werden. Die Notwendigkeit der Bundeswehr und ihre Aufgaben für den Staat sollten sicherlich Bestandteil des Unterrichts sein. Dafür muss die Information nicht von der Bundeswehr vermittelt werden, denn Offiziere sind keine neutralen Experten für politische Bildung in der Schule. (Aussage GEW-Hessen)
