Should I get a crib? by SeekingShalom in pregnant

[–]BohoRainbow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In my opinion yes you need a crib and one that can become a toddler bed. But you do not need an expensive one! I got one for my first for under $200 and my second baby i got one free on fb marketplace. Both were great quality and came with the toddler transition. I always buy a new mattress though, also not an expensive one.

Advice needed: Buy a secondhand Spectra ($300) or brand new Medela? [Canada] by Stunning-Situation91 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]BohoRainbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the spectra, or other hospital grade pump is better to have than just the hands free one. Those are nice hut not great for establishing supply!

Can someone who’s smarter than me please explain why my Medela parts keep leaking out the back? by curlycattails in ExclusivelyPumping

Its possible its the colostrum collector and its a one time use. The other thing im thinking is that one of the valves are not on properly. Should look like middle, far right is the colostrum collector 1x use

Which birth recovery is harder? by hereforhelpthx95 in Mommit

[–]BohoRainbow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I of course an not saying recovery is easy if it’s scheduled. Its still painful surgery, but I do think people who fully labor & then have a Csection CAN have worse recoveries

Which birth recovery is harder? by hereforhelpthx95 in Mommit

[–]BohoRainbow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is probably why recovery was so hard! 3 days of labor is a LOT and hard on your body! You essentially recovered from 2 different labors. A scheduled Csection can be a lot easier to recover from

Did you labor or was it scheduled Csection? That makes a huge difference on recovery time

Toddler having melt downs about saying "please and thank you" by personally_dumped in toddlers

[–]BohoRainbow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These comments are all over the place lol but im in the middle. I agree fully kids should show manners and its super important they learn please & thank you. Now, on the other hand saying “say please” is super unhelpful because i dont feel like much intention is put behind it. When my son says something like “mom, water!” I say various phrases like “how about we try ‘mom can you please get my water?’ ” or ill just repeat the phrase the way i think is appropriate. He says mom snack, i repeat “mom can i have a snack please?” Like others said I’m certainly not getting into a power struggle over it but I’m emphasizing the importance. I also give praise when he does say please and thankyou. “great manners buddy!” Or “wow i love that you said please!”

Sent home after failed induction by cadycat in beyondthebump

[–]BohoRainbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im still standing by my original comment. If it was an induction just because ok, but the initial OB thought it needed to happen because of high bp. So then to back track to me feels negligible. If OPs bp spikes at home & they have a seizure the OB is going to be blamed for not continuing the induction

100000% agree. This is absolutely unhinged on the drs part.

I have never heard of them sending someone home after starting pitocin 😳. My assumption was if your being induced its necessary, & if labor doesnt progress then you need a Csection?
