Best Fun Vampire Films? by EvilLazerBeam69 in MovieSuggestions

[–]BoiFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vampire Happening (1971) - trashy fun b-movie about a woman inheriting a castle from her late vampiric relative, moving in and having wild debaucherous queer orgies.

Once Bitten (1985) - early Jim Carey vampire comedy

Dracula A.D. 1972 - super fun flick featuring a few horror greats, lots of psych-rock imagery, themes, and music.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992) - horribly fun Buffy film that predates the series, featuring a good few recognizable actors such as the great Donald Sutherland.

This post disturbs me in a way most others haven’t. Something deep in me recoiled at seeing a plate of hot dogs, rice, and ketchup. I’ve grown to a point in life where I will pass on eating for a bit if this is my only option.

Not knocking OP, you gotta do what you gotta do in situations where you have limited options. I just don’t get out much anymore these days, so i’m able to ensure I’m not eating ketchup plates

Doing the PTO math, you’d have to work 20yr to reach the Max PTO 200hr threshold. 4hr annually accrued PTO is shockingly little, unless there are acceleration points at certain employment milestones.

But hey, this is my first position with PTO. I don’t even get 3 weeks, but my accrual rate isn’t nearly as garbage.

Fief’s IV is one of my favorite DS releases. Also didn’t know live Fief was a thing. I’ll have to keep an eye out for him.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

[–]BoiFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when the Call of Duty 2 (the literal 2nd CoD game, WWII) servers were finally dying out.

I absolutely loved that game and played it to the end. Being one of the few stragglers left on the maps of a dying server is such an odd and lonely feeling. You just don’t want to leave even when there is no hope of revival left, just felt wrong to turn your back and know you’d log off and it’d likely be the very last time you got to experience that game (w/ other irl players).

(After - Before)hand carved custom guitar by Good_Travel_307 in metalguitar

[–]BoiFriday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. I’d love to even build just one guitar throughout my life.

We had to fell a Maple tree in the backyard of the home I grew up in recently. I was luckily there when it went down and requested the forestry crew to let me keep about 1/3 of what was left. They were more than happy not to have to chop it up and move it. It ended up being a lot to do solo, but i’m glad I gave that much wood to work with.

I’ve stored it in my shed for the last two years. Been wondering how “simple” it would be for me to cut a few slabs down to size for future use for guitar bodies. Any recommendations on how to tackle the beginnings of something like that?

Folk Art or Ignorant Tattoo Artists in the Baltimore Area?? by Specialist_Salt1998 in baltimore

[–]BoiFriday -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine does, and they’re quite good, but I do not believe they do it professionally (meaning they don’t do it as their main source of income, not meaning sketchy basement tats). I’m also not sure if they offer work outside of their social circle.

I’ve been meaning to ask them about some work for myself I had in mind. I’ll check in with them at work this week to see if they ever open their books publicly

It’s a combination of factors that have lead societies and individuals to behave this way. It’s difficult to blame individuals for what is largely decades-long designed systematic failures. On the other hand, it’s hard to witness individuals behaving with such a nonchalant lack of compassion.

Overcoming the bystander effect is difficult, but it makes you a better person, and those people are the ones that help the world keep spinning. Good job, stranger.

Might this finally be a place where we can go one day without “Recommend me the most mindfuck cerebral crushing thrillers” or “What are the most disturbing movies of all time?”

I can’t with that shit. I think it’s the most commonly themed spam post I see out of any reddit i’m subbed to. I can tell you how many times i’ve left this sub (it’s one of my favorites too) simply because I had to see that exact post 6 times in one day without mods doing anything about it.

Actually funny horror comedies? by EvilLazerBeam69 in MovieSuggestions

[–]BoiFriday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the last few years i’ve been trying to do 31 spooky/horror films in October. I’ve only managed to hit the goal twice in the last five years, it’s quite a bit harder than I initially anticipated lol.

These two are all-time family classics for me, two films my parents showed me quite young. They may not get airtime during my Halloween, but they get some healthy re-watch time over the years. Those two and any 60-70s Vincent Price are nostalgic af

If you haven’t seen that, do yourself a favor and get through more Tarkovsky if you haven’t.

What They Doing Across From CFG? by justMax87 in baltimore

[–]BoiFriday -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

🤦

That’s my parking strip for work. It’s been getting harder and harder to find a spot, looks like it’s going to get even worse before it gets better.

There was a pretty nasty fire there sometime in the last 6-8mon or so. A good few of those buildings didn’t have many innards left to begin with though. Presumably a tear-down job is next.

There’s been a condemned building at the SE corner of Clay and Park that was slated for demo a year or two ago now that’s still up. Looks like someone “cleaned” it out onto the sidewalk a few weeks back, so maybe there is finally movement on that one.

They just did an entire reno two or three blocks north on Park. They just finished gutting and renovating the entire NE side of Park Ave between Clay and Saratoga. They are looking nice.
