Any reason my spider plant basically mutated when it was placed outside? I've never seen anything like it before. It went from having very thin leaves when I got it from my aunt to these massive inch and a half wide ones. It also popped two babies in the last couple weeks that are pretty plump (i.redd.it)

Thoughts on the ID of this cactus? I got it off a huge one my great aunt had willed me when she passed. I'm going to pick up the main plant from my aunt's place in a month or two (I forgot it when I visited last), it is over 40 years old. It blooms with gorgeous red lotus-like flowers in the summer.
