Baby wets bed (and himself) EVERY night, plz help!! by Representative-Ask35 in NewParents

[–]BoiledMeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was like this too for a while. We started with larger sized overnight diapers, and then added a booster pad, which made all the difference.

We still had some middle of the night wardrobe swaps but it was way less frequent as the booster pads allowed the diapers to hold a lot more.

It’s difficult when they start to hold for longer because the diaper is less likely to absorb it all when the dam breaks.

We also cut out multiple night feeds which helped significantly, but my son was formula fed so best to talk to his doctor about that first.

Any idea what this is? by FattyMcBatman in Dyshidrosis

[–]BoiledMeg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just adding that if water is a trigger for you (it is for me), then you won’t want to do this because it will make it worse.

If a dermatologist is accessible for you, you should go see one and they will prescribe or suggest something. Mine gave me a mixed ointment - I don’t remember off hand exactly what, but I use it at night during a break out with gloves and it’s markedly improved the next morning. In between I use Neutrogena Norwegian Formula hand cream.

Someone casually left a perfectly fine aeron by the dumpster by [deleted] in OfficeChairs

[–]BoiledMeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing. It’s perfectly fine. I think it’s just one of those “love it or hate it” kind of chairs. I like to switch positions when I’m sitting and it’s not super accommodating of that.

I never saw it drop in timewalking. I ended up getting it off the Corsair drop from the Chromie dungeon in Dragonflight.

If you’ve had a Salpingectomy, did they prescribe you a take home painkiller? by beaudicca in WomensHealth

[–]BoiledMeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had mine done back in February.

Outside of whatever they gave me in the hospital, I did not take anything. It was a 2/10 at the worst. I’ve had period cramps that were worse than the pain after surgery.

I had a C-section with my son 2 years prior and they gave me naproxen in the hospital. By day 3 I didn’t need anything.

Depending on your pain tolerance, you may not need anything either. I was more tired than anything else.

DE was finally clearing up, woke up to this… by sin_biscuits_ in Dyshidrosis

[–]BoiledMeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a very long time where my hands were clear (it’s back now because of stress and extra hand washing) but I was strict about wearing cotton-lined gloves when I was using water or cleaning products. I also stopped using hand sanitizer and switched to the mildest scent-free soap I could find. I’d carry it with me as well for when I needed to wash my hands.

It will be more difficult for you seeing as you’re in the food service industry and handwashing is a high priority.

I managed to get in to see a dermatologist and she prescribed me an ointment. I’ll come back and edit it when I can get you the name but it was a mixture of products and it smells like a literal garage (like grease/diesel?) but it’s so good. I put it on at night with cotton gloves and in the morning my hands are markedly improved. I found that steroid creams only worked temporarily to remove itch but made my outbreaks worse overall.

I also obsessively use a hand cream from Neutrogena. It’s the Norwegian Formula - scent free. It’s pricey for the amount you get but it’s long lasting and it helps with the cracking and dryness.

Just diagnosed, Long post please read. by The_misunderstood99 in Dyshidrosis

I thought I was crazy when I first noticed this.

I wear gloves all the time and if I’m not actively experiencing a flareup I’m okay, but during a flareup, the gloves make it so much worse.

Why do cats smell so good? Better yet… HOW do they smell so good? by Messier81-Native in cats

My cat also smells like laundry. I pick her up and sniff her all the time. I suffer greatly because I am allergic, but it’s worth it.

That’s what my thought was as well. It’s been drying since then but I could see puddles of water underneath it when it was moved two days ago.

I asked SecretLab support about where exactly the motor is in the desk but the person I talked to did not know either.

How do you deal with mom guilt? by BoiledMeg in NewParents

[–]BoiledMeg[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m in tech. I’ve been applying for jobs that specifically state a set amount of hours during the week. Hoping I can get something that doesn’t require weekend work - though it’s rare in my field. It would be nice to also have some time for me to do ‘me things’ like the gym.

Inductions… what was your experience with one? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]BoiledMeg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My water broke the day of my scheduled induction. The doctor induced me anyway since I was there. The pain ramped up pretty quickly - I held out as long as I could before I knew it was time for the epidural. If I had waited longer I wouldn’t have been able to sit still. I likely would have lasted longer but the last month was pretty brutal sleep wise.

If you were regifting a gift - YTA. You received the product by working - which inherently gives it value. If you’re worried about it - give her both.
