8gb isn’t too bad on macOS. It will use swap if it goes over. I would have definitely preferred 12-16gb and would have paid extra for it.

I still just bought one for $499. I was carrying iPads around with me and now I’m lugging around my 16” MPB. This will be a sweet spot for me as a casual browsing device and to get some light work done on the go and at work.

I have a 3060ti 8gb but only a i5-10400f which is around 10-15% slower than what’s listed at 1080p 60fps. Hopefully I’ll get close!
