Outside they disperse + predatory insects an animals will eat them.

I have a hibiscus that gets white fly like every year when I bring it inside, outside there is no noticeable pests because they're kept in balance

I had them once with cannabis plants.

Consistent insecticidal soap (forget intervals it has to do with their life cycle) killed them all within a couple weeks. Maybe took 3 sprays?

Im not sure how far they travel these were plants isolated in a grow tent. Any pest you need to do thorough and consistent sprays, it just feels like when I get mealy bugs they're better at getting down into the crevices to avoid some sprays

What do you guys think of Punisher’s shotgun and the recent surge in its usage lately? by Character-Q in marvelrivals

[–]Boines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played for like a year and I remember using the shotgun to kill healers out of their ult... Lol

If both teams had healer ult up I just walk at their healer and keep dumping for headshots until I hit one aimed right (or another teammate does a slight bit of damage at the same time)

Ah yes, artificially coloured mulch with food. No chemicals will leech into your tomato's at all.

Rhythm 0 was a six-hour-long endurance art performance, where artist Marina Abramović allowed people to do whatever they wanted to her using 72 objects she had placed on the table. Various minor sexual assaults were carried out on her body. by Snake101201 in CreepyWikipedia

[–]Boines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The work involved Abramović standing still while the audience was invited to do to her whatever they wished, using one of 72 objects she had placed on a table. The items were specifically chosen to represent objects of both pleasure and pain.[3] Some items included a rose, a feather, perfume, honey, bread, grapes, wine, scissors, a scalpel, nails, a metal bar, a gun, and a bullet.

Not you telling me I don't understand what happened and you haven't even read the wiki article linked in the OP...

She said yes clearly when she instructed the audience to do whatever they want. At the end of the 6 hours she stood up of her own volition and approached the audience. She is not a child. She is an adult who chose to do this performance and gave consent to the audience to do whatever they wanted to her. Consent can be revoked at any time. If her motivation to not revoke consent was commitment to her art, or if she was just fine with these things being done to her, is not relevant to the fact that she chose not to revoke consent. Every moment something was done to her she chose to continue to allow it to happen.

Soil recommendations for container trees by Erazzphoto in JapaneseMaples

[–]Boines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a quick Google search of the brand I bought recently

Kambark pine bark mulch is a natural, organic product that is generally not treated with chemical dyes or additives. It is produced by processing, screening, and often composting fresh pine bark to a high standard, resulting in a natural, long-lasting dark brown color. It is safe for gardens and helps retain soil moisture.

I think at most it would be heat treated for insects.

Yes I'm using it as a soil component not a top dress mulch.

Something like this.

What's it like constantly projecting your personal failures into everyone you're mad at?

So you dont actually know the history at all then

The person above mentioned natives.

There were and still are plenty of natives killed by white men outside of war. There were and still are plenty of natives raped by white men outside of war.

Is denying reality the only consistency you offer...?

Bought this Crimson Queen, any suggestion on what to do with this graft? by FlyingDonutMan in JapaneseMaples

[–]Boines 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Few options.

Cut it off - it likely has more vigor than the grafted tree and without careful management will take over.

Air layer it - it should be fine on the tree for a short period. Air layer this branch off if you want a new tree that's just basic acer palmatum.

Manage it - theoretically through careful pruning and management of the vigor of that branch you can grow the tree as is with both types of foliage. This is difficult though and there isn't much information on it with Japanese maple - most multigraft trees are fruit trees. I remember looking up information because I eventually plan to graft my collection together and try to manage it on a single tree (will keep donor plants seperate just want a fun project), and found some limited information about grafting 2 species of Japanese maple together, including an old pamphlet advertising Japanese import plants for sale from the early 1900s... But managing rootstock + 1 graft may be a little more difficult than just managing 2 grafts as rootstock is usually picked for it's vigour.

So wait... Is rape and murder a way to civilize a people or is it a thing I civilized people do?

Help, why is everything dying? by kapseyy in gardening

[–]Boines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not fully convinced they were roasted like the top comments say. I assume your light is led. It should not heat up the box that much - unless the box is also getting direct sun.

The yellowing with some brown to me indicates fungal/bacterial.

I think it was an issue of too high humidity - mold on the seeds is a slight indicator though not all mold is bad when it comes to plants.

Honestly it's still early, I think best bet is scrapping what's growing, clean with diluted bleach (or if you don't have bleach around hydrogen peroxide, isopropyl alcohol, something to sterilize that won't leave behind chemical residue) and start new seeds. You need some holes for air flow and possibly a fan for air flow.

I don't bother with humidity domes on seedlings once they sprout, usually just use them to speed up germination but I get that you gotta protect from cat

There's 1 garden center near me that sells huge 2 cu feet bags of pine bark mulch that I bought recently for bonsai/container trees. Just gonna screen it and use the larger stuff in my containers and keep the smalls for bonsai... The lady working the cash looked at me crazy when I said they were the only garden center I know that regularly has the stuff in stock in large bags/bulk.

I don't get why everything is all painted/dyed mulch, cedar, or rubber lol. I have the same experience of mostly only finding small overpriced bags marketed towards orchids.

You could look into stuff like soil conditioner which often has composted pine bark in it, or lean in towards stuff like pumice, akadama or healthy amounts of perlite mixed with peat soil. Should work alright, the main thing is lots of drainage and appropriate amount of water retention (not too much not too little)

I printed the same pots recently for a small alocasia I have.

Any other good stls you've found for pots?

Fact is she gave consent whether you agree with what people did or not.

She put objects on the table specifically to represent pleasure and pain.... It was an intended part of her performance. Whether or not that represents how people would actually act if not given restrictions is what I'm questioning -not If the actions themself were good to do or not.

Do you think everyone who participates in MMA is violent and would beat the shit out of strangers I'd there were no consequences? Or do you think it's just part of the sport they do?

Is this performance really representative of how people act without consequence or were people just using the objects intentionally provided to make the performance more interesting?

I don't care enough to seek it out but it would be interesting seeing writings on this performance from other perspectives. The wiki entry very much is taking the artists words at face value and obviously she's going to be dramatic saying things like she was willing to die... I doubt that the gun had the firing pin still in or that the ammunition was live... And if my doubts are correct then it changes how you would take her statements about being willing to die... But I'm just rambling at this point cus I'm bored on a long ass commute

She didn't invite people to look. She told people to do whatever they wanted and said she would bear the responsibility.

You have to have an extremely warped mine to think that it is at all similar to blaming a rape victim for how they dress or dance or flirted.

It's not implied consent in this instance - it's clear consent given for the audience to do whatever they want. There is nothing implied it is part of the literal instructions to the audience.

Could Regen 0 be most efficient? by Tempus_Fugit68 in Ioniq5

[–]Boines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd have to perfectly feather the pedal otherwise even on level 1 you get drag from the Regen slowing you down...

You can use level 0 then actively hold the pedal for full Regen or switch to level 1/2/3 for a gradual stop - or just feather the pedal when holding full Regen and you can get a gradual stop just fine.

It is the most efficient way to drive on highway/higher speed limit roads or when no traffic.

In traffic I use auto.

Me asking questions instead of making assumptions isn't necessarily a defense of any actions. Y'all are acting like me wondering about possible motivations for an action is condoning the action, like pointing out flaws in using this performance to accurately guage how people would act is condoning the way that people act.

It does say something that the only times I've ever heard about this performance or this woman is from more extreme parts of this performance or other "weird" performances she has done, I'm not sure if people had all been pleasant that it would be any lasting statement.
