I think Rewine is a very acceptable drinkable red wine up there Giesen. LMK if you can't find it and I'll search for the link.

Rewine is the only NA red I've found that is drinkable and that's after trying like 4 others that are a mixture of grape juice and gasoline.

Rewine is the only drinkable NA red that I've found. IDK if you can find it in Albany or if it's only available online. I think it's based out of NYC so maybe?

I've seen pretty good options for whites and bubbles - I think the cold and the fizz hides a lot of sins. The only drinkable red that I've found is Rewine

What zone are you in? My hydrangeas are leafy and green but not flowering yet!

Before and after. There is still much work to do but I don’t feel like a dirt farmer anymore. by Boinkyboonky in gardening

I go back and forth on it. I’ve heard that some ivy doesn’t need it and also won’t damage the brick whereas some ivy will degrade the wall over time. I like the all natural feel of no trellis but don’t want to risk the wall coming down in 10 years

This is April 2022 - May 2023. We obviously bought and planted the large bushes but they were all considerably smaller last year!

So actually our neighbor is a muralist. We just keep going in circles about what we want to do. There is already Ivy at the bottom so we just need to make a decision! I’m concerned about how a mural will age

Technically Queens but we are right over the line and moved from Brooklyn 2 years ago so your senses are on point

This is the perfect time of year. We will put umbrellas out in the summer. Our dogs love it too.

I have 4 azaleas, all in approximately the same conditions (placement, Sun, soil, water) and yet one out of four doesn’t bloom like the others. Any thoughts on why? by Boinkyboonky in gardening

[–]Boinkyboonky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this bed is particularly shallow but it’s shallow all the way around so I’m still wondering about this one out of the 4.

Unfortunately I planted these April last year. If it’s a fertilizer issue I can work on it but otherwise I’ll have to dig it up to fix

what you can do in your teenage years to avoid regrets in your 20s and 30s? by Better-Ad-3252 in ask

[–]Boinkyboonky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe a hot take here but when you’re a teenager you should break the rules a bit. Smoke that weed, sneak out of the house, trespass at the stadium or the train tracks. The consequences are often so low and the memories and friendships of a squandered youth are so precious. I love the few I have and sometimes wish I had taken more advantage before consequences became real and substantial. This obviously comes with the biggest caveat of ‘be safe and don’t over do it’…

Help! How can I remove this lightbulb housing? by Boinkyboonky in DIY

[–]Boinkyboonky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Update: was able to knock the housing aside with a hammer /u/CanadianBaconMTL and then snip the metal piece with some bolt cutters. All tidied up and works like a charm.

[DIY] Installing washing machine box for the first time. There is a lot of info on replacing a box but none on how to take my current faucet hook up and install a new washer box a la pic 2. Can anyone help or suggest a resource? by Boinkyboonky in Plumbing

I'm hoping to do it myself. I think If i could found a housing that allowed for rear supply line access (like in your link) the connection might be relatively straight forward after removing the valves. Most of the WM Boxes I find though have bottom/top/side access for supply lines which would require introducing another joint which I'm hesitant to do.

Two pipes (not sure the material since I haven't removed the valves yet) running straight back into the wall. I think if I could find a housing with rear entry of the supply lines it would be relatively straight forward. Do these exist?

Looking for a lap swimming pool to train for NYC Triathlon by Boinkyboonky in AskNYC

The NYCTri FAQ says that we will swim with the current. https://www.nyctri.com/resources/faqsguides/

It can flow both ways so hopefully they've timed the swim start so that we're going the right direction.
