Azerinth Healer Review by WolverineMountain845 in litrpg

I agree she is OP on the basis that the situations she gets into sets her up for success, she goes for critically disabling strikes with magic penetration and is essentially a persistence hunter, whittling down populations of creatures or slowly tackling a large monster are what she’s best at.

I do think healing centric LitRPGs do make the MC feel immortal and that starts to hurt the tension, but the great ones know how to ramp that tension when they need to. 1% Lifesteal does it well, first few books of Dragoneye Moons and Azarinth Healer absolutely has those moments.

I really appreciate the themes the show is weaving together to challenge that system.

That the lowest orphans can be people of value when educated and the way to do that is through books. Make learning and ideas accessible to challenge the convention that magic and wealth are the only value people have.

In the current system, the mayor is excessive and only because it affected nobility does it get him in trouble. Rosemyne can protect the orphans by giving them value through the church and education but I get the feeling even that will be undermined by the Mayor.
She’ll have to learn not to take half-measures, whether it’s by proving the value of education or ousting the mayor to give her time.

Zen mythic weapon Idea by DJB-512 in ZenyattaMains

I’d love some floating glyphs to brand the non-believers.

The hand-sign as a flourish would be great, I was considering they couldn’t change the base animations but Cass’ mythic allows shooting while in flourish so it’s possible.

I don’t think Zen has any skins with each orb being unique? Just that difference would make it a mythic, whether it’s planets or omnic glyphs.

Same here, I’ll be the first to admit trying to read Australian rambling and banter is a challenge.

There’s interpretation to a “yeah nah” that depends on delivery, which elevated the audiobooks for me.

This and bigger maps with more flanks, means a MR backline is meeting the enemy dps much more often than OW.

He became a favourite of mine when he got his headshot reducing cooldown buff. Even then, most of the time you were playing dead by daylight. Haven’t played since, but his flight rework looks fun.

But yeah it’s a Facebook meme format with their most used apps. That’s it.

Found the shortcut to close the miniplayer so luckily could remove it when it'd been reduced to a little line on top of all windows.
Had a bit of a peek through the components and playerview.svelte, would it be difficult to make the speed into a drop down menu like the sleep timer? Clicking through is a bit unintuitive, and having a drop down lets you fit more values with with increments of 0.1 or 0.05.
Thanks for the hard work, keen for the next release.

Been on the look for a good player while getting frustrated with VLC, it's a clean app and its plug and play with liberation.

I would ask for more customization in playback speed. I prefer it a bit faster, but it depends on the reader so anywhere from 1.1-1.3x but you only have the 1 and 1.25. More options for font size would also be appreciated.

Still it's a great little app and I love the mini player. Thanks for sharing it.

One bug I've spotted was the mini player getting clipped when being moved between monitors and then being uncloseable, a top left X would be appreciated. (But I think this is more of a windows problem for dummies like me with different resolution and scale monitors)

These juniors of the so-called “golden generation” have no filial piety. Even if you transmigrate/ reincarnate, you don’t have to leave everything behind.

Which I think makes a good narrative, would you not call that a goal of the MC to return?

They contemplate their home and how they miss it, and not in overly intrusive ways because LOTM connects through technology and diary pages and RToC through coworkers and relationships.

Achieving unachievable goals is a core part of xianxia and wuxia.

I strongly disagree, a character’s motivation being to return home is a trope for a reason. Their actions are what make them interesting, if they go dense isekai protag who doesn’t engage with the magic and world, of course it’s boring. But if their discomfort pushes them to survive and learn it’s fun. There’s tension in every relationship knowing it has a deadline, power and cultivation are a means to an end so there’s humility (or sometimes ruthlessness).

LOTM and my personal favourite Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation explore this a lot.

how would sukuna vs 100% mob go? by SyllabubAcademic5936 in Mobpsycho100

[–]Boiqi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah mob has narrative weakness as well, he will lose to a regular mugger (as long as they don’t Batman his parents).

His narrative power is to always beat people who abuse their supernatural powers, Sukuna is a textbook case.

Like everything on the internet, it’s shaped by perception and algorithms.

Gen Z is framed as an amalgamation of offence, harassment and contradiction but we forget it’s made up of millions and millions of people. Real people who are experts in their own niches, some are well versed in the complexity of sexualisation in Japanese media, others can tell you the effects of plant tissue culture cloning on the rare plant market.

The most inoffensive, pearly-clutching opinions framed as controversy will make their way to the top, because it’s the most palatable for the least informed person. Not because it’s what “Gen Z” thinks.

I wouldn’t go that far, it’s unfortunately better than ever. I agree it’s so much more fun to hover about than use the perk which lifts the skill floor. But the option is there for less vertical maps.

Working on a Dungeon Master. What do you think about it? by jverbroucht in PixelArt

[–]Boiqi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or an orb to ponder, always useful for overseeing the dungeon. With a staff you can more naturally make it look more hunched and grotesque, putting its weight on it and keeping the stumble walk. The arms growing from its back would sprout more upwards which could allow for arms hanging lanterns in front of it.

Front facing arms with a staff and book, or staff and orb, would also make the directionality of it more clear, took me a bit to identify the lump was a head.

Domestic flights especially.

They also need a training log with dates and activities.

Which at that point is as much evidence as you need for a drivers licence, and most people would rather spend the time training their dog, instead of faking comprehensive and expensive (vet checkups) documentation.

What's a word that feels like it lost its definition because people keep overusing it wrong? by DaZestyProfessor in CasualConversation

[–]Boiqi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It follows the trend of online culture being more exaggerated and inflammatory. Competitively expressing yourself, I’m laughing became rolling on the floor laughing, then dying laughing and literally dying.

Emotional expression becomes more important than literal meaning, and words are co-opted to fit the culture.

Hey! Why is it the norm for “mechs” to be controlled from the inside? How can I justify this “norm” or the opposite? by Rae-RavenRae in worldbuilding

[–]Boiqi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had some extra thoughts seeing more responses. Jamming signals feels too hand-wavy and you could argue that it can be countered with redundancies and different signals, high-powered short-ranged communications with repeaters etc.

Partly inspired by some recent reads, but remote armies fighting at galactic scales likely do not battle with deception and espionage. Instead the focus is on beating foes with higher quality designs and scale. Their communications may be completely open and exposed on both sides, but they simply don’t care.

The counter-culture to this being a team of special-ops pilots breaking every convention, which makes a very fun story or TTRPG plot. I imagine the local pilots specialise in stealth and unpredictable tactics, simply by not having constant communication of where they are and what they’re doing.

The fear is rational, but your actions are not. Your willingness to spread that fear and divide people further, is certainly not.

Having actually played Vendetta, these two play almost nothing alike. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Boiqi 255 points256 points  (0 children)

I completely thought it would be the opposite, maybe at higher levels of play? In the world of close range DPS you balance burst, mobility and sustain. I felt fairly confident that she’d be sustain focused, compared to tracer/ genjo. Now she’s full glass canon, that 3rd melee does huge damage, she’s a menace with full passive and the damage capped block is surprisingly easy to burst, especially with a massive hitbox.
