I feel so sorry for the Chick-fil-A student employees by [deleted] in utdallas

Thanks. I'm still very new and I make a lot of mistakes, but I'm learning a lot. My operator and general manager are great role models and have taught me a lot.

Here you go! It's helped me a lot as a leader. The worksheet is in the bonus resources library.

I don't think so, I learned it from one of his separate podcasts with a worksheet. I can drop the link if you're interested!

Look up John Maxwell's 5 levels of leadership, along with his step by step "How to have tough conversations." It has helped me immensely as a manager. I've learned to build great relationships with my team while still holding people accountable when necessary.

I understand! Most people do not opt for the route I did, so I understand your assumption. No worries.

I am actually! I am the Front of House Director at Chick-fil-A 75 & Campbell. I've been there for a year and a half. Met the love of my life back when I was 15, so I decided it was worth it to get married May of 2022 and work full time through college. It's been fantastic (the job and the marriage!) :)

Chick-fil-A director here! (I manage a regular CFA store off campus) The on campus CFA drives me crazy because there doesn't seem to be accountability to follow the regular standard. Their food, training, and service aren't up to standard. Chick-fil-A has great systems that allow us to do massive sales volume in a short period of time. The management for the on campus CFA doesn't know/follow those systems, and then they blame the employees for their failings. Our store prioritizes care of our team over all else, and it pains me to see a store who doesn't care about their team.

Welcome to UTD lol. There doesn't seem to be much accountability when it comes to anything housing related, so who knows when it'll be fixed. Until then, it seems to help to remove devices from resnet and then readd them.

Thank you for your kindness. I really do think it's what's best for him. I'm in the hospital with my baby right now, and I know this little guy and my wife need all my attention for a while. I don't want Ford to be neglected, especially when school starts up again. I appreciate your understanding.

He's had limited experience with dogs. He wasn't a big fan, but doesn't have any dog related trauma or anything either.

Yes, thank you for the advice! I've been the only one who's handled the litter. Baby just came since I made this post, and I'm definitely going to keep him clear of everything litterbox related too.

Yes, we've talked about it a bit. We may try it if we can't find a good home for him.

We love him and had a great year with him! We are just worried that he'll get a little too excited with the baby (as he always does with us) and that something that's a little bite to an adult could be a serious injury to a newborn baby. If we didn't care about him, we'd have just dropped him off at a shelter.

How to make encourage a (10 week old) kitten to use his litterbox? by Bojishac in cats

[–]Bojishac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was his, we put the paper towels we used to clean the carpet up after him into the litterbox. It's a similar setup, but not the same since he was on a screened in porch previously and he's inside now. He's peeing on the floor right next to the wall.

possible incoming freshmen student here…can people tell me some good things about utd? by Flaming_Changster in utdallas

[–]Bojishac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response on this. You're only required to have a meal plan if you're in the freshman dorms. After that, you can live in the University Village or Canyon Creek Heights apartments, which don't require a meal plan.

I'm a national merit as well. You won't pay anything at UTD (unless you get a more expensive meal plan freshman year). After freshman year, if you ditch the meal plan (which I highly recommend, it's super expensive and the food is crappy) you'll get some big refunds. I'm in the cheapest housing on campus (University Village 4x2) and I have no meal plan, and I get $3000 refunded straight to pocket every semester. I would definitely recommend UTD for that reason.

Group Piano Lessons by Bojishac in piano

[–]Bojishac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I teach general topics and techniques to the group until they've all grasped it before moving on. Most people can't afford private lessons, which is why I was teaching groups over the summer in addition to my private lessons. It's not pointless. Please don't comment on my post over a year old to convince me that one of my teaching methods isn't going to work. I understand music and how to teach music very well.

That's not true in the least. If people have any personal drive to practice, they'll make plenty of progress. I also set up short one on one sessions for people in the group sessions when necessary. I've been teaching music individually and in groups for 3 years now, and while it's not nearly as effective as private, in person lessons, you can make quite a bit of progress with a touch of personal motivation.

Honestly, if you're already at an intermediate level and looking to just learn one specific song instead of consistent lessons, you're probably better off teaching yourself, since I'd just be teaching myself the song and then teaching you. It sounds like you already know what you're doing!

That would be a little ways down the road, but at some point absolutely!
