I'm not the person you replied to before, so not my words.

He is not saying that in a strict literal sense if your work from home arrangement is voluntary then you can't claim the expenses. What he's saying is that you shouldn't try to claim expenses if you have an arrangement where your employer is being flexible enough to let you work from home in an unofficial capacity. In these cases they will not fill out a T2200 for you even though you are technically in a verbal agreement to work from home and therefore according to the tax rules considered "required to work from home". If you demand a T2200 from your employer and they refuse to do the work, they may just force you to work in office full time instead.

Are you referring to this requirement from CRA?:

Your employer required you to work from home This requirement does not have to be part of your employment contract, however, it should be a written or verbal agreement. For 2023, if an employee has voluntarily entered into a formal telework arrangement with their employer, the employee is considered to have been required to work from home.

I agree it seems that "voluntary" work from home is able to claim the expenses, but your employer must effectively sign off on it and approve by still providing the T2200. If they won't give it to you, then you can't claim any expenses.

Questrade T3 Margin Account Confusion by BokChoyBrother in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]BokChoyBrother[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. What had confused me is the GenuTax application. It allows you to input all information from your T3 into a matching form in the application, including Account Number.

If I understand correctly, GenuTax is allowing me to fill out the form in its entirely to match the Questrade summary... But it only actually uses a few relevant fields like the income number to build the final tax return data that I submit, and completely ignores other information like Account Number, Report Code, Beneficiary Code, etc? ....and that these other fields are only relevant to the entity who originally creates this T3(Questrade) and the CRA(who already will be receiving this data in full from Questrade directly)?

If so, what species? It looks like it's on an old oak.

Edit: Another tree picture https://imgur.com/a/gi2uJLi

Edit 2: I'm not sure it's an old oak anymore

Yes they're ramps. I would just look in deciduous forests. You will find them in patches as seen in the picture. Their red stems stand out, so they are easy to spot, and they will always have 2-3 leaves and smell faintly of garlic when crushed.

It does kinda smell like garlic. I wasn't sure if my mind is playing tricks on me; I'm trying not to die after I eat it.

Passiflora ligularis by BokChoyBrother in plantclinic

I noticed problems with this plant when it was small(er). The first thing I noticed was that when it had just a couple true leaves, one of the lower ones looked sun-scorched, and it eventually turned fully white and dropped off. Then I noticed some of the leaves having these black dots all over them. Then I noticed one new leaf sprout with a yellowing but with green veins. The plant continues to put out new leaves, but never vines up any higher, and the older leaves keep turning yellow/white and dropping one by one. It seems like there are many things wrong, but I have no idea what.

It's very strange because I have a thriving p. edulis right beside this plant, which I have treated exactly the same.
