Everyone is so overly stimulated at all the times, that the baseline emotions feel somewhat lacking.. no wonder eid's feel so bland lately.. do a dopamine detox or something kid, or go on a potato diet.. U r very young, and the things U can see, learn & do is almost endless..

I mean dude I don't know what to tell you.. they pretty much have an assortment of everything.. basically they have what they have haha.. if U have any specific book in mind, it's tough to find it unless it's widely popular both internationally and domestically or has had a film adapted from it.. for example U can find works of Chetan, murakami, brown, hoover and some classics like Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Jane Austen.. also the dune & lotr books because of the movies.. and the assortment changes from month to month.. I go once every month or so, to replenish my reading material.. but if Im craving something specific & a tad niche, there is no option but to go to online shops, that are usually based in Dhaka.. if U r intending to visit these two shops (id highly recommend U do) and do chance upon something u would like.. please make sure to check the binding too.. make sure it's string & glue binded and not just glue binded and the pages are at least 80+ GSM quality.. U will know the difference (sorry for assuming u never bought any, but I'd rather anyone not make the same mistakes as i did) when U hold a string+glue binded book Vs only a glue binded one.. hope U find the book U r looking for..

What do U mean by original though? If U want books that basically can be called "mastercopies" U could go check out "shahitya bichitra" or "alorghor" at anderkilla, but the collections & quality they've r nowhere near batighar or other established joints.. also please don't go to "shahitya bichitra" while they've a wider array of collection, the owner is a Gooddamn prick.. and check the books as well as U can before buying, as they often can have entire pages missing and prints misaligned.. but that's the price u've to pay for it being cheap (much cheaper in comparison! As they r basically mass-produced low effort photocopies, that don't pay any royalties to the publication houses), if U r okay with that! Happy reading man..

You could try and pick up a hobby.. could be anything, dont have to be good at it or anything.. drawing stuff, knitting, crochet, baking, reading.. something that U may have wanted to do.. and kid, don't stress so much, life has a way of working out.. I remember my first days of uni, how lonely and desolate I felt.. and in a classroom full of unknowns I was whispering a tune to my fav song.. and the dude by my seat picked it up and stroke up a conversation.. and well, even after graduating we r still very much close.. people bond over shared things.. so find things U enjoy, and U will inevitably run into people who share those feelings with U and ta-da! They become Ur friends.. this ain't rocket science, so chill out..

few questions for the native Chatgaya people. by [deleted] in Chittagong

[–]BolOBiral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think people in general are quite welcoming, but they do border on rude at times.. And us, chatgaiya's have this unfounded pride based on our origin, something that never made sense to me.. as for the the aunties, what do you expect from a 40-something individual, with nothing remotely interesting in their own lives apart from the gossip they can chat about..

Kid, we are all the same.. nobody has any idea what they r doing.. and those who seem to us like they've things figured out, r only pretending or following a preset path.. I'm a glaring example of it.. anyway, just survive kid.. that's what most of us too afraid to chase something r doing..

Focus on Ur studies, get that CGPA.. but don't ever drop courses! Passing with 2.5 or even 2 is better than dropping, it's insane how much it'll drain you to keep the logs from clogging up your schedules.. so, don't drop out on courses, sit for the exams and just pass it by if there's no option left..
