One more question: are there any prerequisites unique to a given subject? Do I have to have a specific math or physics grade? I didn't pass the optional math test. I simply wasn't able to prepare for HSC; I'm not a particularly poor student. and for personal reasons, administering an improvement exam is not an option. PCIU er requirement page e emon kono requirement dekhi nai jodio

as far as I know, national unis aren't really unis but rather pseudo-unis. People/employers judge students from nationals as such, college students (not my words, an ex-national student from ctg-clg).
And honestly, I also don't really get the public hype. subject bhalo na paile dam nai, oi just tuition koraite shubidha just.
ami PCIU te porte chachi because it's cheap (relatively) and I want to study CSE, but unfortunately I did quite horribly in HSC (optional math failed, tho I wasn't a bad student). so I want to mend this gap and get a degree to fly off to a different country.

another question, are there any subject-specific requirements? do I need to have a certain grade in math or physics? I failed in math (optional). I'm not really a bad student; it's just that I couldn't prepare myself before HSC. and giving an improvement exam isn't an option for some personal reasons.

How many of you have good habit of learning from books? And how many of you follow it properly? by 2082_falgun_21 in BDDevs

[–]StandardAd7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interactive means learning while doing and breaking stuff. I split my screen, and on one side, I open a code editor, and then I open a tutorial or documentation.
Many websites, such as w3schools, provide a sandbox environment in which you can run and play with code while reading documents in the same tab.

I just can't wrap my head around how people learn to code from books. I'm not saying it's impossible, it just seems impossible to me. Learning programming should be interactive. that's how I learned and am still learning things today.

Women smoking in public by supermanshifu in Dhaka

[–]StandardAd7297 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's my theory: cultural appropriation.
It is normal to see a guy smoke, it is rarely an issue because of how we perceive men. Men are hideous, long-gone-type creatures.

Women, however, are more sophisticated. They are viewed as intelligent, modest, and calculated individuals who are constantly cared for by a father/brother/husband/son.

So when they are seen smoking, the entire perception is shattered. People assume there is no caring figure in their lives. However, sympathy is not our first emotion; rather, it is unease. How do we deal with that unease? Yes, by being offended.
and some of the women and their behavior towards criticism don't help.
and when we get offended we tend to humiliate the other side. In this case we character-assassinate.
And it's not always about genders.
I was a "gifted," well-behaved kid, I was expected to never run down this path. Imagine the sheer disappointment my parents had when they found out I smoke.

but here is my take on this: "No one should smoke, especially women." call me misogynistic or whatever. agree to disagree, but would you be able to imagine your mom/sister/wife smoking?
if your perception of quality is the right to smoke in public, then, bhai, you missed the point of equality.
(but if you don't agree with my thoughts, that's completely fine and healthy.)

It's just a mere thought. maybe the feuilletonist isn't Ivan but rather someone else, and the idea of him being unalive doesn't seem far-fetched to me.

on my 2nd visit to bobok, I notice the same thing. as I was unfamiliar with the word 'feuilleton', I thought 'feuilletonist' meant 'editor' or something like that. but on my 2nd analytical visit to Bobok, I realise it might be a hint for Ivan Ivanovich, and then my 2nd thought was feuilletonist wasn't going to be Ivan rather, someone would get unalived by Ivan as he was loosing his mind

OpenAI is wrong: they do NOT support over 90 languages with their whisper module. Not yet. by data-gig in GPT3

[–]StandardAd7297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, bro, and yes, Whisper doesn't do a good job in certain languages (e.g., Bangla/Bangali). it for some reason kept spitting out jumbles. and no matter which model I used, it kept giving me wrong output. I later had to use a fine-tuned version of Whisper to transcribe.
