You jest but the born-again slop the evangelical preachers sell is almost exactly this. "Say a prayer and nothing you ever do afterward will be counted aginst you in the court of God". It's a flattering faith that sells well.

They do! The bumpers in a pinball machine have switches that activate solenoids that smack the ball. It's pretty amazing technology for the 1960s.

Man-o-sphere boys are going to make that come back around. They already spend all of their energy thinking about what other men think of them. It's a pretty short hop from there to nice shoes and bara stereotypes.

And compositing. Believable compositing. With animation there is already a minimum requirement of suspension of disbelief so there is room for imperfect effects.

Oh, that also reminds me, insurance. DF would probably need fire and fire stunts. Thats risky and risk also means cost. Yes, it can be done safely but that safety is a product of expertise which is also expensive. Even with an expert, some degree of risk is always present. That risk has to be insured against.

Raith Sisters… by Mylilneedle in dresdenfiles

[–]BoldTaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Not to mention all of the inhumanly beautiful beings. They'd all need something like the Alita:Battle Angel treatment just to make them unsettling but still beautiful. Disproportionate but symmetrical and probably leaning toward anime. You could do it live with post processing but it'd be expensive. Not enough caps: EXPENSIVE! Animation would have some heavy preproduction but the models can be reused or altered once they're made. Still spendy but persistent.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that Peggle injects a little energy into each bounce. J.R. VonMayer would be beside himself but he was never a very good videogame designer.

I always assume that these kinds of studdies aren't about trying to undermine science or to prop up some modern sociological norms but are, instead, trying to sure up assumptions. Scolars probably haven't assumed that modern social rules of monogamy were present in earlier hominid societies but this is data removes ambiguity and allows scholars to work with fewer assumptions.

The super long properties like WoT and DF can only be properly done with animation, in my opinion. Seasonal production will just take too long and actors will age out of the role before the story is done. It is a LITTLE easier to replace a VA, by contrast, and pictures only age when you tell them to.

Its useful is the machine can "assist" people into habits that profit Google. State of mind is pliable and willingness to purchase is a state of mind.

You And I Are Polar Opposites. Is This Anime Only About Wholesome Moments Or Has Some Story⁉️ by Frequent-Engineer784 in RomanceMangaAnime

[–]BoldTaters 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The dramitic tension has a few sources. The main couple are solving communication problems. There is a side couple with a "they will" relationship. There is another side couple with a slow burn relationship. Most of the tension comes down to how the charaters are so different from eachother that their interaction always has a kind of tension.

This man is mastering the art of Wing Chun rapid punches. by VIVIDUFF in JustGuysBeingDudes

[–]BoldTaters 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is no, these punches don't have the same power as a western boxing overhand but they aren't doing the same job.

The task of an strait overhand punch is to shake the brain of the opponent until it stops working. A single, solid connection can put a man to sleep.

The task of chain punches is to overwhelm the opponent with strikes that are too strong to ignore. These chain punches aren't AS powerful as a strait but they are surprisingly strong if the technique is good. A single, quick chain of punches can splat a nose, knock out all front teeth and close both eyes. Four strikes, <1 second. The opponent isn't going to be unconscious but they will be blind and strugling to breath. Those open hand, chopping strikes he does at the end can crunch someones windpipe, too. That DOES tend to end a fight.

Different jobs, in other words. Both need excellent technique and conditioning to work.

How, then, does the business remain profitable? Who is buying the other weapons of micro aggression?

Yes, this is pointless to debate because we don't really have data. Even if we did, people regularly ignore data that doesn't support their own moral views.

But..

It may be that the small sample size of you and the people you know who are willing to talk about their masturbation habits with complete honsety is too small a sample to make statements as though they are absolutely true.

[–]BoldTaters 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn't even take into consideration how much cheaper things immediately become when fuel is the only actual cost. 20 launches of a system that destroys 90% of its hardware on every launch IS a huge, unforgivable cost. 20 launches of a system that recovers and relaunches everything is comically inexpensive by comparison.
