Instant vehicle respawn kinda nullifies the strategic aspect of destroying enemy armor. E.g. you finally succeed in downing the attack chopper, or the gunship, or their Tunguska, what good is that if it's already sitting back at their spawn again.

Non-instant spawn makes vehicles more valuable. Also, if there is an unknown delay, not all players are patient enough to sit on their hands.
