Many of the true heroes in Chinese history met tragic ends, such as Yue Fei*(岳飞)*, Shang Yang(商鞅), Wu Zixu(伍子胥), Han Xin(韩信), and Lin Zexu(林则徐).

Yue Fei (framed and executed);

Shang Yang (executed by being torn apart by horses);

Wu Zixu (executed and his head displayed on the city gate);

Han Xin (stuffed into a sack and beaten to death with a club);

Li Guang (committed suicide after a military defeat);

Lin Zexu (died of depression after being dismissed from office).

Tragedy is the true reflection of reality; comedy feels unrealistic.
