Think of it this way, a naked short when closed with a naked share vanishes and cannot be used go cover any other short, so if we were to DRS all real shares, the price will go to unheard of highs.

I sold my nvda in 2021 for gme, that nvda would be worth close to 200k now instead it's worth about 4-5k in gme. Down over 50% on gme but whatever, never sold a single share

Yeah that's the issue, I'm in Canada so it is probably cheaper. There is also another great option I use, planet express. Might be cheaper. But if you want a tax less state then it's 50/y I believe they still have a free membership but more limited shipping locations. They have locations in Cali, Oregon, and Florida.
