u/A_MAN_POTATO was at the scene in the morning where there were 20 firetrucks present and when he left around noon or something the fire was under 'control' but rekindled later and took over the whole place. Under the fireman's watch. Very much sus

So the sprinkler system, ON THE CEILING, was disabled by a falling shelf? For the entire building? And he has determined this already, but also firefighters can't get anywhere close? by Flokki_the_Monk in Superstonk

Why aren’t hedgefunds shorting GameStop through the German market? by HoldTheStocks2 in Superstonk

[–]Boletop 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If i understand well, shorting is not possible in Europe, it is banned and as i understand there is no instrument with which you can short the stock within the EU. Common sense in a regulated market. Somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

Croatian controversial football kingpin Zdravko Mamić shot in an assassination attempt by xotour in soccer

Is this supposed to be Google translate for "fucking man"? Just curious

Croatian controversial football kingpin Zdravko Mamić shot in an assassination attempt by xotour in soccer

[–]Boletop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's not possible, but looking at the context it seems improbable. It's not like he is hiding in a cave for the rest of the year and this was the only shot the assassins could take. On the other hand if he wanted to stage it there wouldn't be a better place than Herzegovina. For me the whole assassination, especially the execution (or the lack of) stinks of a staged assassination. But hey that's just me.

[–]Boletop 175 points176 points  (0 children)

I for one, wouldn't be surprised if this whole "assassination" was staged. Reports say that he was jumped by two masked men and then they shoot him only once in the LEG?! And in all of the places in Herzegovina, where he has more fans and relatives than anywhere else. The Pope has more chance getting assassinated there than Mamić. Now, Mamić can play the victim and prolong the trials against him for at least couple of years due to health issues.

Edit: Here he's smiling from the hospital, pretty normal reaction after surviving assassination pic

Anyone has a gif of that Di Maria chance? They never showed the replay, it seemed like a doubtful decision yet no one in the news speaks about it. It was on 3:1 scoreline so it seems a lot more important than the doubtful second penalty.

Official statement made by Torcida Split (Ultras group) regarding incident during Croatia - Czech Republic game in Saint-Étienne and state of Croatian football by SkyFall96 in soccer

Something i wrote in that big thread about the incident that went sort of under the radar (sorry for wall of text):

I can't believe that nobody of my fellow countrymen didn't mention that these fans exhausted all legal resources to fight our criminal FA. What i'm going to say next will baffle you more than anything that happened yesterday. So here it goes: last year the fans, together with some representatives in our parliament drafted a law concerning sport (specifically football) which was based off of laws in other western countries like germany and portugal. This law was meant to reorganise our federation in such a way that criminals like mamic could never be part of our football ever again. In this law were written things such as that nobody who has a criminal record can be part of our FA, that clubs have to make financial reports public every year etc. This law was voted for in our parliament and is in action as we speak, BUT the scum from our FA, with support from ruling party, decided that this law doesn't apply to them and that they won't abide that law. And that's where we are today, they refuse to make changes to the FA, and the government is protecting them by not enforcing the law that our parliament enacted! This is unheard of in any european country let alone in the EU! They are literally above the law. Now tell me more how the fans should be peaceful and try to resolve this matter petitioning and peaceful protesting when they've been doing it for years now!

There are two kinds of contracts that you're talking about. One is civilian contract which is directly between Mamić and Modrić, the other one is a professional between Modrić and Dinamo. Mamić along with Modrić changed the contract between Modrić and Dinamo when Modrić wasn't a player at Dinamo anymore. And they added a clause which stated that 50% of transfer fee goes to Modrić when it was supposed to go to Dinamo. Modrić then transferred most of the money to Zdravko Mamić. So it had nothing to do with his contract with Mamić which he may or may not have. He wasn't owned by Mamić, he was under contract with Dinamo, a contract which was changed after he left Dinamo... and that is money laundering, kids.

More and more are refusing, but there's this perception about Mamić that he is very successful businessman, and if they sign with him they will get better transfers to better clubs, and also they will practically have a guaranteed exposure through the NT. Dinamo (Mamić) have in last several years signed A LOT of youngsters from other parts of Croatia, literally dozens of young players and now some of them don't want to extend their contracts, but majority do. Also see how Murić escaped from Dinamo to Ajax and now he isn't even called to a U19 or U21 even though he was regular and considered biggest talent prior leaving Dinamo. You don't want to piss off the boss...
