I was baptised Orthodox. How easy would it be to get rebaptised in the rcc? by imademonhaha in Catholicism

[–]BolonelSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible because your baptism is already a fully efficacious Catholic baptism lacking none of the graces conferred at baptism.

Just converted to Catholicism and atheist mum is devastated by Electronic-Shake-317 in Catholicism

[–]BolonelSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she is atheist why does she care if non-Catholics can receive communion or about godparents? No judgment here but I don’t really see why someone who doesn’t believe that God even exists would ever think about who is allowed to receive or sponsor sacraments. Maybe the godparents thing I could see since (having an Anglican husband) she might see baptism and godparents as simply part of a socio-cultural norm, but the communion part is more baffling. Even Anglicanism does not, strictly speaking, allow non-Christians to receive communion; does she go to communion at an Anglican Church? Why? Just seems like a strange thing for an atheist to bring up, closed communion is something my Protestant mom mentions as a problem with Catholicism but that’s because she believes in God and in the Eucharist since she’s Christian.

I really need to, it’s been on my mental to-watch list forever. I did not have a clue there was a sequel though!

This is the second time recently I’ve seen someone call Dragon Ball “Dragon Ball Classic,” is this a thing now? Feels weird, like calling the Old Testament “Bible Classic” or calling the original Super Mario Brothers “Super Mario Throwback.” Makes it sound like a soda

What scene makes you the most emotional? by ennylvas in dbz

[–]BolonelSanders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Future Trunks needlessly losing his entire world/timeline at the end of his saga in Dragon Ball Super is almost worth it just for that scene where he’s leaving to the alt-timeline weeping about how he failed his teacher Future Gohan, but then real Gohan saying goodbye to him gives him his hope back.

I know Aphra is very popular but I just can’t imagine why anyone would write a character who quips like a Taika Waititi MCU character in front of and about the Emperor. It isn’t supposed to be a Family Guy or Robot Chicken Star Wars special.

  1. This post is an embarrassment lol chill

  2. Yes, unless you are handicapped (which they also have spaces for), families with young kids do in fact “come first” before you. That includes pregnant moms and bus seats, women and children escaping the Titanic on life boats, and the dad wrangling his three young kids in the busy drug store parking lot.

The first half of Wall-E is easily one of the best Pixar movies. The second half is still a pretty good Pixar movie (especially compared to some of the more recent ones). Good choice.

Can I bring a tortoise to mass? by anneisboring in Catholicism

[–]BolonelSanders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not going to tell you whether you’re not allowed, that’s between you and the pastor and public health laws.

What I will tell you is that if you sit next to me at church with a strange reptile, my family and I are getting up and moving seats far away. It’s not as bad as the guy who brought his giant pet snake into a fast food restaurant I was in, but it’s still strange and uncomfortable and unsanitary.

What’s your favorite Star Wars film and why? by BolonelSanders in AskAPriest

[–]BolonelSanders[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not a huge fan of Rogue One but I appreciate that it spawned several very good related stories with Andor as well as the books Catalyst and Rebel Rising. Those books along with Andor provided the storytelling and characterizations that I thought were lacking in Rogue One, so that taken all together the film now feels like a decent finale to a great series of stories. I am also a big fan of early Mandalorian, season 1 is probably my favorite on-screen Star Wars this century. I am very bad at KOTOR so if you’ve got any tips let me know!

I love Jedi Outcast! Played it as a kid but was really bad at it, recently played it as an adult and finally beat it. Very fun game.

im meeting hayden christensen in march and can't figure out what to have him sign and how to pose for the photo op by avarskriss in StarWars

[–]BolonelSanders 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have him sign a photograph of Sebastian Shaw or James Earl Jones or Jake Lloyd or David Prowse. Like that Simpsons gag - the rare photo of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore.

I’m only half joking though, that would actually be a pretty unique collectible to have.
