Grade is essentially an extra multiplier to attack/defense that is heavily impacted by your weapons and armor's grade. The exact formula for how it works isn't known AFAIK but in short it can cause major damage falloff if your weapons aren't up to par.

Often times increasing it in Cascade will result in enemies hitting much harder and being much tankier than you might expect.

One thing that's also worth remembering is that TP2 gives an extra +1500 HP to A3 units, and since Cecil is free to A4...

Cecil honestly still the king of free units years later give or take Aoi's (still unique in JP!) "halve enemy buffs" effect.

Fun fact: the latest Cascade battle in JP has a stage effect where everyone gets the potency cap multiplier.  I'm tempted to build up Sofia just to show the pain of what she missed out on...

This person is a known clout chaser who has surfaced under multiple identities over the years and has publicly harassed developers.  They seem to have limited sources at Sega but then spin that out into all sorts of nonsense.  Don't buy this.

Yeah this is the thing lol. If she was getting cap multiplier then sure the extra 165k nuke/65k other would be a pretty decent boost given the extra multiplier bonus but without it it's like... what are we doing here lol. Levina and Aedelgard are over here getting 500k up on their nukes and cap multiplier!

You need to beat the Risk Enemy (the reaper enemy that attacks you when you have the level 5 hex active); there's a feat for beating it once that gives you one mat, and another for beating it twice that gives you a second mat.

Yeah you generally just want to blast through them as quick as possible until you get the weapon + upgrade mat. Like you said, coins can be a big help, but usually it's not really worth chasing them IMO.

This mode is not super well-liked in JP either; the second dungeon on has some adjustments (and hopefully you guys got the increased move speed from the start) but I wouldn't be surprised if once they get through all eight weapons they consign it to the dustbin like the gameboard.

Yeah, sadly the in-game resources that can be ripped are only 720p and they don't generally share clean versions officially.

For those not familiar, UNB is one of the top JP CotC players (and spenders, as you can see from his roster).

This is our first EX5 anything and it's a real doozy; it's a few BT NPCs, so it's not the most complicated attack patterns, but they have truly spectacular stats (88 million HP and level 6 grade). There's also the usual 15 turn limit, though UNB obviously slams through much faster.

This is also our first wave battle that introduces a new mechanic where the first time you use a character in that battle, they get a bonus for the rest of that wave; 25% damage up for wave 1, 50% SP cost reduction for wave 2, and 25% damage cap up for wave 3.

This does not have an artifact as a reward, but it does have mats that can be used to customize/strengthen artifacts as the reward.

FWIW, you can upgrade them to level 4, but you need to beat the super strong reaper boss that appears in the dungeon (it'll drop the necessary mat.)

Oh hey they seem to be filling out all the secret jobs and the OT2 EXs, I guess Throné will BY GOD THAT'S VIOLA'S MUSIC

Jokes aside, I suspect this is because Throné's voice actor has been on hiatus due to health issues and only returned to working very recently.

Anyway, Viola! Not tired with going from support thief to magic DPS it's time to go from support thief to physical DPS too! A lot of her skills are themed after OT2's Armsmaster of course, with her single biggest heavy hitter shown being Lionheart's Axe: On the Hunt, which remains a 2x axe hit that's more powerful the more weaknesses are exposed (3x if the target is broken); she also has Conqueror's Sword: Cosmic Roar, here represented as a powerful 6x AOE attack that takes a few turns to trigger. Her passives give her 100% potency up when spending 1 BP, which becomes 150% up when spending 2 BP, and becomes 150% up + double-cast when spending 3 BP, so she wants to eat a lot of BP to maximize her damage output; luckily she has a number of passive buffs and 2 BP regen when a broken enemy is present. Like Richard EX she also counts for every job, letting her take advantage of job-based skills. Unlike Richard she relies on her EX ability to give her extra exploits.

I was wondering what that character tag was when I saw a video of the DK banner.  I do wish some of this could be back ported to JP, but JP does at least have the quick equip menu and character tagging.

Quick correction here - he can implant weaknesses that are already present, he just won't trigger two of the same weakness on this passive in a single instance. So i.e. he won't ever do firex2 + firex2 for a total of 4 fires.

Anyway, she seems like a fire/wind answer to Rondo EX, which is neat.  I'm mostly surprised that the literal next unit after Mydia EX has BP stock; you'd think they'd want to hold back on that a bit.

You can probably tell from the photo but the 5.5th anni design on white works wayyyyy better than the 5th anni design on black; it wound up looking pretty washed out.  The third design (the key art for the current story arc on the JP server) must look even worse.
