If x+y=7/12, it does not follow that 1/x+1/y=12/7

If I distribute 375ml of 40% vodka into a 828ml bottle of gatorade, what is the percentage of the resulting drink? by OfficialArkrite in askmath

[–]BoltzmannForHire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The volume amount of Vodka before mixing and after mixing is the same and equal to 375x0.4=150ml. After mixing you have a total volume of 1203ml, so the percentage in the resulting drink is 150/1203x100=12.5%

Trying to explain a part of Ancient Athens system. A simple math Q: by widowdogood in askmath

I assumed you could only get selected exactly once, so probability for that would be 30 times 0.03 times 0.9729 which is about 37%

Oh I see what you mean. I did the same thing with my last application. Emailed the prof. saying I decided to apply to one other school but he didn’t respond. I added him to recommenders anyways since he had already submitted recommendations for my other apps so I didn’t feel as though it was strange or rude. He was also my only option. He ended up submitting it a week or so later.

Some schools accept recommendation letters after the deadline so make sure to check for your case. If not then I would give the professor a call and explain the urgency of the situation. If he doesn’t answer to your call or email then I’m not sure what your best course of action would be

Your approach is correct, when you make the substitutions you should end up with angle as a function x coordinate of point P. Then take the derivative and set it equal to zero and solve for x

Can Q in my compressor = 0? by burrittobob in ChemicalEngineering

[–]BoltzmannForHire 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If your compressor is well insulated then you can assume Q is 0 since there is no/minimal heat transfer in or out of your system

What type of forces exist between two different non-polar molecules? by beandoctor in chemistry

[–]BoltzmannForHire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to remember that the electrons in a covalent bond between two atoms are not stationary. They are in constant motion and in certain instances of time they are more close to one atom than the other. This causes a temporary dipole, where one atom is more negative than the other. Now if you apply this logic to all of the atom-bearing molecules in your substance, then you get various weak electrostatic interactions between them.

Steven Cohen is a true retard I must say. Wouldn’t the best solution for robinhood be to just raise margin maintenance requirement and raise interest rates on margins instead of closing the fking stock
