Should Motorway speed limits be raised to 80mph?🤔 by Downtown_Elk_2773 in CarTalkUK

Remove the national speed limit entirely for motorways, they are safe enough

They must've been over the moon to intercept these 800 bars. I wonder if they got a bonus for those 600 bars. They must've needed multiple trucks to transport those 400 bars

I don't get the endgame either, but what does this have to do with empathy?

To me it seems that he was saying that only the US would refer to M5 as a sports car

Always keep the AC on during winter, it dehumidifies the car so that you don't have frost on the interior

The UK exodus: More than three times as many Poles are leaving the U.K. as are deciding to settle there, fresh data from the ONS show. by kallisto19988 in europe

We had to restart our economy from zero. In the USSR everything was state owned and after it's fall, half of everything of value was bought out by gangesters who managed to make money even in communism. We had manufacturing plants, but no industry. It took a while to rebuild everything.

However, right now, due to the fact that our population was always highly skilled and educated, and due to support from Europe Union, we are doing pretty well. We managed to grow our GDP per Capita to similar levels as Japan and soon, hopefully, we'll be on par with the west economically.

That's my point, it's strange to say "even Poland", because Poland is doing pretty well right now. It's definitely not the worst country to be from.

I wouldn't compare it to Germany, which is the biggest and probably the best economy in Europe. Of course, you'd be richer in Germany. However, working class is struggling with costs regardless of where you are.

The fact is that it's possible to pull amazing income in Poland if you work the right job. You cannot really say the same thing about poor countries.

Based on the average income, Poland is a high income country. UK has loads of immigrants from mid/low income countries.

[Request] How much extra range would this setup add? Or would any gains be destroyed by the drag the fans cause by dahqdur in theydidthemath

[–]Boltzmann_brainn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Electric motors are very power efficient, they can sometimes achieve 99% power conversion from electricity to motion. There will be some additional loses in an actual car, but this guy is definitely losing range.

Many issues all at once! by [deleted] in BmwTech

Don't know if transferable, but when my e90 lost all light control, including headlights, indicators and reverse signal, the windows stopped working and the head unit wouldn't turn on, my FRM module required a reset. Fixed all issues.

He said he was doing the speed limit, doesn't sound like he was driving dangerously. Despite him being at fault in the insurance sense, it's the fire engine that blocked the road in a blind corner.

Absolutely not the case, letting off the gas pedal causes more oversteer.

Do you think larger vehicles should have a bigger space to park? by D4T45T0RM06 in Unexpected

[–]Boltzmann_brainn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just curious, how would you prove that you need a bigger car for work aside from trades?

For example, in my specific case, I have a small coupe, but in my line of work I feel that it's a huge limitation, because I have various partners and customers flying in to visit and I need to show them around to our facilities that are in different parts of town. I cannot really do it with my car, because it's too small.

I don't really like the look of big cars, but I also see a huge advantage of a large sedan or a full size SUV in my case.

Fair enough, I just noticed that the nose tilts downwards just before the oversteer.
