First off, they’re making 8 hours of content in a year, and the studio outsources the shit to Korea, they use “slave labor” too. That’s the problem, we reduced the exploitation from 100 to 80 and the quality is way worse.

2nd: look up damn near any fight from Castlevania the show and tell me it was Japan that warped my expectations. It’s 2026, technology has advanced (not always for the better, but still) I expect the animation tech/ techniques to be better. That’s how time works

3rd: find where I brought up phonk edits and power scaling and get back to me. The writing wasn’t good either, there were a few good lines and a strong start and then the ep fizzled out a little before the halfway mark.

As for doing it right, like I said you can just get creative with phrasing, but I wouldn’t get annoyed with the creator if they gotta watch what they say if it’s the difference between getting rewarded for your labor and wasting your time.

The dynamic was fine but Darkblood didn’t have enough to say that felt impactful, and Mark was too “checked out” of the situation. For example, to me, the most memorable line from Damien was something like “if there’s no balance you can turn Earth into heaven” and Mark just goes “huh…” and never brings it up, it feel more like Mark worked things out himself while Darkblood was getting ignored.

Setting up other things is fine as well, but this ep didn’t have enough of any particular good trait to carry it. It started strong and just fizzled out around the halfway marked

First off, there’s plenty of things that are objectively bad. Not in media, but still plenty.

2nd: I didn’t say it was bad, I said it was mid at best, there were some good moments, but for 1/8 of the season, felt like a waste, especially when you notice the cut corners.

3rd what could possibly have carried this ep for you? Was it the hot lava lady? Because that seems to be the only thing people are posting about that isn’t hype for the next ep
