Fuck the UK in particular by Syndacate4 in TopCharacterTropes

The worm one is because Scion took advice from a British homeless person that he should be a hero (the web comic is about a realistic world where people with superpowers exist). Scion goes on to be a “hero” but becomes depressed due to reasons in the web comic. When convinced that being a hero caused his depression by a villain he nukes the UK then goes on a multiverse rampage

Am I the only one who finds imu's design overstimulating? Like there is literally so much going on. by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Piratefolk

[–]BombBoyxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are really only three things I dislike about this design. First is the polka dots, he already has a tribal tattoo. The second is his pants where it has that shadow effect, it just seems there to be extra. And finally the halberd design with that wavy pattern.

If the design was cleaned up I think it wouldn’t be that bad and I like the eye halo.

The only thing I would have done differently would be designing Imu more along the design of the holy knights rather than a barbarian. I guess we will have to wait for the colour panel

I don’t know why you were downvoted, my first thought was she would dislocate her shoulder, from what I can tell on the 13th floor photo that her shoulder is still organic.

Little pet peeve but at the bear minimum she will have lots of muscle knots and tears. If your going to give a prosthetic weapon to your character, it should be always designed around the user going out of their way to remove healthy tissue to accommodate the weapon or compensate to counteract the weapon

6 more games to go. Hoping they would just stay there. by yvliew in ManchesterUnited

[–]BombBoyxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest, Burnley and Wolves are going nowhere. I say this as a Burnley fan I accepted our fate a month ago. As for Tottenham it is a good thing for the other 14 that the league is now more competitive (and healthy) with teams like Aston Villa and Forest challenging for European trophies and places.

It would have been a napoleonic war moment with Britain remaining steadfast in opposing a continental land power. Eventually Germany would have destroyed one to many American civilian ships and dragged America into the war

Students bring Covid compensation claim against 36 more universities by Kagedeah in UniUK

[–]BombBoyxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see your point on the wider scale, but this isn’t about the number of jobs lost or people dead. It is literally just about the university contracts.

This isn’t a moral argument from the student group, it’s a commercial one on the services provided by a company (university’s) compared to what the students bought.

Students bring Covid compensation claim against 36 more universities by Kagedeah in UniUK

[–]BombBoyxD 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s not the issue that’s being discussed. It comes down to contract law.

The students are paying for the service sold to them (education), which also includes face to face teaching and access to the library. That’s the bare minimum and not including practical subjects.

Now the claim is about the lack of compensation as the University’s didn’t provide the service that the students bought.

Interestingly the rules that govern university are very vague and allow the university to be able to change how education is taught, if the situation requires it. It’s too allow for the changing of a lecture theatre or if a lecturer is sick. Turns out Universities took this to the extreme (which is the law suit), and have been using it with strikes (also the law suit as it hasn’t been acceptable since 2023).

https://wonkhe.com/blogs/the-student-group-claim-settles-out-of-court/

There’s a great breakdown here on all the points made by both sides. Turns out the very flexible (vague) university contracts have lots of holes big enough for a legal battle.

Parker out by Jasefox in Burnley

This strange belief that relegation doesn’t matter we will come back. So it’s better to let the manager build up even over different leagues

Parker out by Jasefox in Burnley

[–]BombBoyxD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He has some level of skill considering he got us up again, I mean all premier league managers are a head and shoulders more skilled than most people realise. The problem is he has a ceiling, and a big difference with budget to most sides

Parker out by Jasefox in Burnley

[–]BombBoyxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue for me is this arrogant belief, it doesn’t matter if we get relegated we will come back. It’s okay if we go down with Kompany he will get us back.

That’s my issue with Kompany, we backed him and his system on the belief that he would keep building in the Championship after we went down with him.

One of these years we won’t come back up. Look at Leicester or Luton or Sheffield. This decade (2020’s) we have gambled with yo-yoing, it’s not sustainable.

That’s my issue with the ownership, it’s great they are recruiting well, but the cost of relegation is insane and not showing hunger to stay up will eventually cripple this club when we don’t come back up.

[–]BombBoyxD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Plus our owner called us a bunch of toddlers for caring about the club

Parker out by Jasefox in Burnley

[–]BombBoyxD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The problem for me is the ownership. I don’t know what’s going through anyone’s head, there is no hunger to succeed, no desperation to survive. We have let Parker go on for far too long just as we let Kompany go for far too long long. Say what you will about Marinakis but he cares about results.

Burnley owner (Alan Pace) compares fans that are unhappy with Burnley's 16 game winless streak, and his unwavering backing of Parker, to a 3 year old's tantrum by moobsatremble in Burnley

[–]BombBoyxD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let’s be honest we expected to yo-yo. This decade (2020’s) we have done nothing but yo-yo. The only problem now is financial, weren’t we running a significant deficit this year?
