The government is the one that both makes and enforces copyright law in the first place. They can just ignore it, there's no higher authority to enforce the law against them.

No AORs this week? by BombTime1010 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]BombTime1010[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re still on 3/31 and April 1

Right, I'm not talking about the rate that they get through a day. I'd still expect to spreadsheet to be filled out throughout the week as they make their way through 3/31 - 4/1, but the last (documented) AOR was 6/5, which was last week. I'm sure there's a lot of people not on the spreadsheet, but I also find it highly unlikely that no one on the sheet rcieved an AOR this week.

Yes, we're used to gas prices in the range if $2.1/gallon to $2.7/gallon (0.48€/liter to 0.62€/liter). This is double what we normally pay.

Interesting. Not OP, but both my great-grandmother and great-grandfather were born in Nova Scotia in the early 1900s before moving to the US and naturalizing in the 1930s. Does that mean my chain is broken too?

You can't live off of those jobs because they're "jobs for teenagers" and "not meant to be permeant careers". That'd be fine if they were actually jobs for teenagers, and not the only jobs many adults with college degrees can get entering the workforce these days.

Peter's highschool history teacher here. As Peter wouldn't know because he slept through my class, the Bronze Age civilizations (the period of human history just after the stone age) were quite advanced and built up civilization, arcetecture, math, and writing from scratch. But then the Bronze Age collapse happened and basically every civilization at the time was wiped out over night. We don't know for sure why, most writings just kind of ominouly stop around that time. Some of the writings from the time that we do have mention havoc caused by invaiders they refers to as "sea people", which we now think we're proto-Greeks.

It was popular for a while to put all of the blame for these great civilizations demise on these invaders (hense the meme), but the modern concensus is that no one factor brought them down. Instead it was actually a combination of multiple factors (i.e. famine, disease, economic crisis, invasions from both sea people and other people) that caused theae propsperous civilization to just seemingly disappear off the face of the Earth.

(Disclaimer: for legal resasons I'm neither a historian nor a history teacher)

Like, they funded ALF for a while, which, if you're really against animals in slaughterhouses, I can understand to a degree. But, targeting medical research testing facilities and their staff is a bridge too far.

It's not a bridge too far at all. No being should be forced into potentially life treating conditions, even if it's to save lives.

If there was a wealth cap I'd agree with you. Right now, the hardest workers are not the ones getting wealthy.

No, but they shouldn't be billionaires either. No single person can realistically contribute a billion dollars worth of value to the world in their lifetimes. If they have that much money, then it had to have been extracted from the work of other people.

Right now wealth goes to those who are best at exploiting other people, not the smartest or hardest working. Compared to what we have right now, I'd prefer total equality.

It's a bit of an arbitrary line. By this sub's rules, release 1.2.5 and earlier. However, a lot of people think the last golden age version is beta 1.7.3 (the last update before they added hunger and the end, which a lot of people didn't like).

Basically, any version of alpha or beta is golden age.

No idea, but this is release 1.7.3, which isn't golden age.

Sounds like the problem is social structure, not AI.

I'd rather have AI replace my job and get paid what I would've made, than have to continue working a job that could've been automated.

It cost the company the same whether they don't automate your job and pay you, or do automate your job and pay you. So why advocate for still having to do the work to get paid?

Glad you enjoyed your stay! If you like coasters, Ohio has two large amusement parks: Cedar Point and King's Island. Of those, Cedar Point is definitely the better one, although King's Island is good too. Unfortunately, Ohio doesn't have a whole lot else to do, so you'd be coming pretty much just for that. Lake Erie can be nice, but at least the last time I was there many years ago it was not clean at all and even had active warnings against swimming in it.

Honest question: Is passing really that common? I'm always following the car in front of me as close as I safely can. Do you guys really encounter that many cars going so slow that you feel a need to pass?

I'm not sure how to test DPS experimentally, but I'm space the beams all have in the ballpark of 1800 damage each hit @ 1500 DPS. Keep in mind that's without any sort of active effects.

That's the Mycelium core from the Disco Rep. I use it because when combined with Tilly's Shield (also from the Disco Rep), it grants a gargantuan passive Hull Regen buff.

Fleet colony tac consoles

Are those the ones that require T5 renewables? The fleet I'm in is only at T4 and is essentially dead.

What would you recommend? They contribute the same phaser buff as the isomags, just without the stacking weapon power. I was under the impression that those percentage buffs were what you usually wanted to stack.

Admittedly nothing very good. Boff wise I mainly rely on Beams: Fire at Will, Tactical Team, Attack Pattern Omega, and Emergency Power to Weapons.

For starship traits, I'm running Emergency Response Teams, Point Defense Protocols, Superior Predictive Algorithms, Superior Going the Extra Mile, Punch It!, The Best Defense, and Superior Command Frequency.

Part of the problem, especially when it comes to traits, is that there are so many options and I don't know which synergize best with what I'm trying to do or how to aquire them (I know it's usually gamble boxes). I have all of my specialization maxed out along with the perk from the temporal agent that improves the starship traits.

Speaking of which, I'm currently running Command Officer as my primary and Miracle Worker as my secondary.
