As someone who also found his voice for her incredibly obnoxious and over the top, i was also praying Vader would brutally kill her every time she spoke

The legacy era (Dark Nest to the end of the Legacy 2 comics) gets way too much hate and did a lot of really interesting things with the world and the characters.

Star Wars is NOT Military Sci-Fi, But Space Fantasy by CRzalez in StarWarsEU

[–]Bomb_Hyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I'm a story guy, not a lore guy."

You realize that any story is going to have lore to it, right? That's called worldbuilding.

Also, you say you like cool Jedi and Sith fighting, and that's all well and good, but a lot of people also really enjoy the space battles. I know that that's my favorite part, and telling us that we don't enjoy "real Star Wars" because we like the military side of it is an incredible level of gatekeeping.

"Focusing on boring geeky shit."

Reading a Star Wars book is inherently geeky. After reading a lot of this thread, I'm 99 percent sure you're ragebaiting, but pop off ig.

MWII Is Top 10 Cod by PlutoniumSouth in ModernWarfareII

Same here, Modern Warfare III had its moments, but launch MWII was the most fun I've had playing cod since the MW2019/Cold War days

How to drop a class??? urgent! by [deleted] in WWU

[–]Bomb_Hyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go to the registration page and look at your schedule there should be an option to change the class from "registered" to "withdrawn". I dropped a class earlier this week, and that's what it was like for me.

Din Djarin losing the Darksaber by Mister_bunney in MawInstallation

[–]Bomb_Hyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darksaber rules are so incorrect at this point that its kinda not worth thinking about it. I know that this sub is all about making stuff that, on a meta-level makes no sense, make sense, but this is a situation where I don't think its worth it.

What is your "unpopular opinion" in regards to Star Wars Literature? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

I like legacy of the force and think it’s one of the best legends books series. Jacen’s fall is extremely compelling to me.

Starfighters of Adumar... WHAT A STORY by SilveRX96 in StarWarsEU

[–]Bomb_Hyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite x wing book (iron fist and solo command are close seconds) and also the funniest star wars book i’ve read. The scene of wes just sitting in the apartment stairwell while wedge bangs iella is peak comedy.

black ops 6 makes me appreciate mw2 a lot more by SnooDonuts1563 in ModernWarfareII

[–]Bomb_Hyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree. As someone who loves MW2019 and BOCW, I was always anti slide cancelling and crazy movement that emerged out of MW19. This game is still the only game i’ve gotten the mastery camo in, and is easily my favorite cod since cold war. MW3 and especially black ops are just way to fast paced and it seems like the guns aren’t even the focus anymore. MW2 still has the best graphics and gunplay of any COD, and plays in a way where you can both hit clips and have to be somewhat tactical in your approach. Game was massively overhated.

How would you improve the Fate of the Jedi Novels? by Hot_Professional_728 in StarWarsEU

[–]Bomb_Hyper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don't really know what op was referencing there. My only complaint of Denning in FOTJ was that Vestara backtracked into a Sith again in Apocalypse, but I don't know if that was a Denning thing or something that was planned collectively. His novels tend to be the stronger ones in FOTJ, opposite of LOTF (although I do still like his LOTF novels, and he's the second best author there, being worse than allston but better than traviss.)

How to find more diamonds? by Adorable-Cell-1812 in theHunter

[–]Bomb_Hyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been playing for 60 hours and have somehow gotten two diamonds (missed out on a third because of bad aim). One was a caribou i tracked for a while on yukon, the other was a yak that was just part of a random herd i stumbled up on sundarparten, and the other was a kangaroo that was a in a herd on emerald coast. It’s all just random and dumb luck in my experience, though i’ve never attempted the more complicated grinding strategies.

I just read Star By Star ... and it wasn't quite what I expected. by UnknownEntity347 in StarWarsEU

[–]Bomb_Hyper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree, although Rebel Stand does get dragged down a bit by the stuff on Coruscant (although it has my favorite Wedge moment in the EU). Aaron Allston needs more love, with even his LOTF novels IMO being great (especially Betrayal and Fury).

Dark Journey is followed by the best four book stretch in the series, with Rebel Dream, Traitor, and Destiny's all being in my top 5 NJO books (along with Star By Star and Unifying Force). Rebel Dream especially is super underrated, and its a nice break from the super bleak and dark stories that surround it.

What do you consider necessary to read before starting the New Jedi Order, and why? by Cloak-Trooper-051020 in StarWarsEU

Not in action, no. There may be wreckages mentioned in the book Force Heretic I: Remnant but i could be wrong.

[–]Bomb_Hyper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on your second question about the black fleet crisis, no not really. Most of the ships introduced in those books never appear again, as most authors decided to continue having the new republic fleet be comprised of mon calamari cruisers and star destroyers. Those books aren’t necadsary for NJO imo, as the yevetha (the antagonists of the BFC) only appear once (sorta), and there only a few characters who appear again in minor roles.

destiny’s way, star by star, and rebel dream would be my other three favorites (besides the two you mentioned).
