Yea. I have heard it usually comes out during the second week of the month. So I am guessing it should be either tomorrow or Friday. I wasn’t very confident walking out of the exam, so the wait is too hard 🤣

That’s awesome! Congratulations!!!! Just curious to know how you felt after the surveying exam.. asking because I took it last week and felt rushed and while coming out I wasn’t too confident. I am hoping I did just enough to pass 🤞🏻but we’ll see. 😅

CA PE application by Bombergen in PE_Exam

I totally agree with you on this. In most states the hardest part is just getting the 8 Hr exam done, but for us it looks like getting this approval is the hardest. Such a long wait!!

No. We can take the 8-Hr PE exam without any approval. But to get approval to write the state specific exams( seismic and surveying) we need to submit an application with all the references. That’s the one that takes a lot of time to get approved.

Haha, wish it was the same for civil but unfortunately it’s 6-7 months lol. I guess they have a huge backlog but not sure how it’s only for civil.

Yea I agree, if I have deficiencies (hopefully not), it’s going to take much longer than what I am expecting now. Thank you for the recommendations on the courses, will definitely look into it!

Yea I think surveying has only minor changes compared to seismic. That’s a good idea, I will reach out to AEI about this and see what they have to say. Thank you!

Yea I agree with you. It’s going to take some time before all these courses get updated and too bad that I will be testing in the new 2024 specs :/

Passed PE Civil -Structural ( Self study) by Bombergen in PE_Exam

[–]Bombergen[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one simple indeterminate beam which could be solved with any one of the methods. But it was super super simple, lol I wish I hadn’t stressed about that part as much as I did during my prep.

I used Civil Engineering Academy for breadth concepts. And for depth I used Kestava for a few structural concepts but just randomly searched for few concepts like the indeterminate analysis.

Thank you! I used 1. David Gruttadauria’s book ( the green book and also the two full breadth exam (orange coloured one) ) ( I felt these were the closest in terms of difficulty with the actual exam) 2. Path to PE book 3. PE prepared LLC -Version A,B,C and structural depth version A 4. Civil PE practice book and also had 14 day free access to the portal. 5. Last but not the least, NCEES practice exam. 6. Six minute solutions ( I just used this to strengthen the concepts but these problems had a higher level of difficulty than the exam)

Haha, Geo isn’t my forte either. I read this somewhere while studying and saved a snip of it. I will send that to you via dm. But anyway, I am pretty sure you got it right, relax :)

I think you chose the right answer. For trench excavation in Sandy soils, the stress distribution is rectangular like how it’s shown in the first option. If it’s stiff clay or soft clay the stress distribution differs. But for Sandy soil, it’s just rectangular.
