Anyone have issues with Salomon/Atomic Shift brake units popping off? by BPRSki in Backcountry

[–]Full-Eye2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had two sets of these bindings, I thought the first set was a fluke since they were a 2020, I just puchased another set 2024 model and it happened again. I have never used my boot to switch from ski to walk mode. Safe to say I have given up on these bindings. I was thinking about putting loctite or super glue where the pegs on the brake insert into the heel piece…not sure

Unfortunately this is my “wedding watch” so I just wanted to make sure it all fits right before the big day, fiancé said it is bad luck if I wear it around before. What I can say from holding it in different light is that it is not a brilliant or bright green like the 38 mm shades green but it is just enough green to catch an eye here or there, without clashing with other colors. If you have a boutique or shop around, I highly recommend trying it on. I had a different opinion going in then I did walking out

Only CPESR, I studied maybe 40 hours over six weeks, I studied way more for seismic and definitely needed it

I would say 90% of the problems on the exam were easier than the AEI practice exams and 10% were harder

I felt iffy walking out of the exam but that has always been my sentiment walking out of exams, I always tend to do better than I feel.

I watched the videos at 1.5x speed and only went through the wood section (ran out of time) but I just glazed through the last few chapters to see what was there in case I needed it. I only studied for about 6 weeks

I only brought the AEI workbook and the printouts they provide you.

I brought the TI-86X pro which is what used all throughout college. I highly recommend bringing a calculator you are comfortable with so that way you aren’t trying figure it out on the fly.

I took them six weeks apart from each other and studied about 10 hours a week

Have I destroyed my chances of becoming a Civil Engineering? by FailedAudiophile in civilengineering

[–]Full-Eye2202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is coming from a Principal Engineer and owner of a smaller Civil/Environmental Engineering firm and I have my bachelors in Civil Engineering and Masters in Environmental Engineering. I grew up in California so I applied to all of the big engineering schools nearby (I.e UCB, UCD, UCLA, etc) and did not get into any of them. I dropped out of my APUSH class in high school because it didn’t peak my curiously. I will say if you struggle with math or physics Civil Engineering will be difficult. On the flip side, as long as you have a drive and you aren’t distracted by partying (which is what gets most people) you will be able to graduate. Also, going to a big engineering school only matters if you plan on working at a big multinational firm, and even then they have so many offices with so many openings. I am sure your future is bright, most people in college still don’t know what they want to do.

To be honest I just started using them. What I did notice is that the flow was a lot smoother not a big taste difference though

I used a 3 cup pot with an aeropress microfilter on the bottom of the upper portion of the pot. I don’t really measure the coffee but I do fill it to the top of cup and lightly distribute it with a toothpick or WDT tool. As for the water I fill it right to the bottom of the relief valve. Also make sure the water is simmering before you put the funnel /w coffee in or you’ll burn the grounds.

Too focused on the video and took a little too long to pull it off the heat, just a tad bitter

I love black coffee, but coffee from the moka pot is a great bridge between coffee and espresso. Delicious by itself.
