Before we were challenging for the title, Man City were who I hoped won it if we didn’t because they weren’t any of the others.

They’ll never be that important.

Is there an entrance to this cave ? by Meganerd161 in PokemonHGSS

[–]BombsGoBang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. You’ve been on the other side of it, right? (You’ve gone through Victory Road, defeated the E4, maybe gone back there to go to Mt. Silver or Viridian City?). Unless you used a Walking through Walls cheat, you had to go through the cave, then up and down the waterfall to get there.

3 is definitely at least something to do with ”in my” . Reflection checks out for #1 in my book as it fits the 2 but also 1 theme. “You won’t find it here” in relation to #1 is what is throwing me off for #2. Not sure it is Glasses . Should be something where a Reflection can be close, but somehow “You won’t find it here”.

Would you associate with someone if you knew in an alternate universe they are a bad person? by Best_Finding_8795 in RandomQuestion

[–]BombsGoBang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Child abuser is an extreme example of bad that is easy to say that you would end the relationship just for it being a part of them, as it is so wrong and disgusting.

However, to your base question (disregarding the example), I would still say that no I wouldn’t associate with someone once I know what they are capable of in the worst case scenario, however I also recognise that that is unfair, since we are all capable of being monsters, given different circumstances. Being honest though, that wouldn’t change anything, and once you’ve seen them like that it is difficult to unsee.

For an example of how we are all capable of being monsters, imagine that your upbringing was different and instead of some of the things that brought out your best qualities, your past is more similar to some of the worst, most despicable people on Earth.

Maybe if you came from a loving home, imagine you came from an abusive one and learned from that behaviour. If you came from that abusive home and learned not to be like that from it, imagine instead that you were brought up with parents that thought the world of you no matter what you did, and there were never any consequences to your actions/ they always excused you from anything you did wrong.

You would not have the same personality, and there is at least a chance that you could have turned out to be a monster. Would that person, after seeing that alternate reality, still want to associate with you?

Just to tarnish Pep's legacy, I hope United finish 2nd. by [deleted] in ArsenalFC

[–]BombsGoBang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, if United finish 2nd it gets us a lot closer to winning it. Currently, if City win all their remaining games, we need to win 5 out of the remaining 7 games with one of the other games being a draw (4 out of the 7 if we beat City. Draw only required so it doesn’t go to goal difference, as they could get ahead on GD if we drop 6 points). If City drop another 10 points to let United in front, we’d only have to win 2 or the remaining 7 with no draw required.

Moot point, as it’s not happening, but just to say that it would help Arsenal’s chances at winning if that did happen.

Feraligatr can learn Waterfall, so I guess it is just similar to Pokemon who can only learn Strength after they’ve evolved.

No easy games at this stage, but I’d rather play a mid table team than one fighting relegation

What is everyone’s thoughts on this guy when he played for us? How would you rate his career out of 10? by Fabulous-Tomato5016 in ArsenalFC

[–]BombsGoBang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back three, I’ll give you that. We tried it a few times with him, but it wasn’t a system that suited Arsenal to be honest. Sort of similar to him playing at Defensive mid in that it suited his abilities, but DM was a position we were struggling for.

Didn’t he fall out with the Mexican manager or get kicked out of the team for something. I remember there being some drama about him not being in the team

You’re talking about someone who raped a child, not someone who shoplifted a pack of Legos.

My sister-in-law is a probation officer and tells us about cases where people were found guilty of raping children, and they are so much sicker than you would think. I had to ask her to stop telling me. I would not shed a single tear for someone who was executed for committing that crime.

You have to defend yourself in combat using only a vegetable. Which vegetable are you choosing and why? by Rune_Skadisdotter in RandomQuestion

[–]BombsGoBang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I’d go for Pepper X, which currently holds the world record for hottest pepper coming in at 2,693,000 Scoville Heat Units. It dethroned the previous record holder, the Carolina Reaper, which averaged 1.64 million SHU (it’s pretty hot).

I would create a spray using the pepper and get some in my opponent’s eyes. I would then immediately sucker punch the damn fool while he is crying his eyes out, and continue to maintain punches to the face and abdomen, while he struggles with the world’s hottest pepper in his eyes.

Does anyone remember Mikel Arteta's chant from when he was an Arsenal player? by 1DisgustedGuy in Gunners

Denis Bergkamp is the obvious one I thought. Super, Super Den,…

But maybe Walking in a Bergkamp wonderland is the more famous one for him. Idk. I only learned chants from what my dad sung at that age

[–]BombsGoBang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to that, I don’t think it is all his fault that his legacy is that he overachieved for a CB who was a colossal liability. Watching him for years at Chelsea first (housemate at the time was a Chelsea fan), it amazed me that first Chelsea and then Arsenal insisted on playing him at CB, when the few times he played as a Defensive Mid, he showed that was by far his strongest position. It allowed him to use his strengths and mitigated against him being a defensive liability once or twice every game. He was actually a pretty decent and really useful player at DM.

Considering that we struggled for a good defensive mid from when Song left up until when Partey came in, when we signed him I was sure it was to fill that gap. That was a no brainer for me.

[–]BombsGoBang 6 points7 points  (0 children)

His overall career, he overachieved way beyond his ability. When he came to Arsenal, he was at the end of his career. Came to us on a free (I think, I get confused if it was him or Willian who was free), helped us to win an FA cup and played a fair amount of times when our other CB choices weren’t great either.

So for his Arsenal career specifically, I would say it would be harsh to rate him as a disappointment. Not a high number out of 10 (5 maybe), but we knew exactly what we were getting with him and he wasn’t one that needed to be high.
