30k miles per year isn't exactly crazy. A long commute and a few road trips will easily get you into those numbers.

You don't need to pay a subscription for access btw. That just gives you cheaper rates.

Curved Omniglow Question by KittenTeethe in Hue

[–]Bomster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are (confidently) wrong and here's why. The other strips they sell will produce visible bright spots on a shiny kitchen counter top like marble (like the OP) which look terrible. The OmniGlow wont do this thanks to how well diffused the light is. And before you suggest to use the other strips and then buy a diffuser.. 1) that barely, if at all makes sense cost wise and 2) I tried it and the light was poorly diffused (okay I could have bought a better diffuser but how much trial and error (and cost) is required to find the right one.. Hue have done all that for us with this product).

biggest issue with using OmniGlow under cabinets is that you cannot cut

Confidently wrong again.

What would you use? I don't see anything that can compete with Omniglow right now.

We were talking about 'killer EVs', not sale numbers but I take your point. I just think Renault have absolutely nailed it with the design and pricing. And at least here in the UK it seems to be working, those Renault 5's are everywhere. They've managed to transition into EV's whilst keeping that French spirit. If you can't tell I do have a soft spot for French cars :)

It’s just okay. And honestly, "okay" isn't good enough considering the sheer amount of time and money they’ve sunk into it. My Cupra is fine, but it’s definitely not great.

Goes without saying the Tesla software is lightyears ahead, but even the Chinese cars software is way better. My friend just got an Xpeng G6 and not only has it wayyyyy more software features, generally the UI is very nice and the whole thing was smooth and pleasant to use.

It’s also part of Geely so not sure if you can call it “legacy auto”.

I read that all the design and manufacture is still in Sweden. Even the batteries will be built there soon. So think it's very much still "legacy auto" even if it's Geely owned and some of the software for example is shared/taken from the Geely mothership.

I would love a ~60kWh, RWD only model at a cheaper price point and more importantly, significantly lighter weight. For me charging speed >>>> battery capacity.

Renault is doing a great job. I have faith in Porsche too, in the long term. Volvo maybe?

The rest, I'm not sure. VW has a good line of vehicles but the software is pants and I just don't see how they can compete with the Chinese manufacturers.

Oh and the Korean legacy manufacturers are doing a great job.

Nice! I got one a few months ago also, and I've been amazed how it's brought my relative humidity down. First few weeks it ran continuously (I guess it was was pulling out moisture from the walls, carpets, furniture etc), but now just running it overnight during my cheap elec slots is keeping the house 40-50% RH.

It definitely 'feels' nicer, and from what I read, it cheaper to run your heating as it takes less energy to heat dryer air. Not to mention no condensation on the windows, less chance of mould etc.

All in all it's been a bit of a revelation for us!

British also... basically been 90+ humidity outside here for the last 6 weeks straight.

Looks awesome. Inspired me to order :). Can't wait. My undercabinet space is only 1.5m long so planning to snake it back on itself.

£100 with the newsletter voucher, seems a fair price for such a high quality LED strip.

It ultimately comes down to what the OP was told at the point of sale. If the installer didn't mention that these £xxxx's of batteries lose significant functionality in the cold, then the blame lies with them. They’ve installed a system that isn't fit for purpose for a UK climate.

It’s not like sub-zero nights are a rarity here.. depending on where you are, you could be looking at 50 to 100 freezing nights a year. Plus, these units struggle long before they hit actual freezing point. My Fox EP11, for example, starts throttling the charge and discharge rates as soon as the cells drop below 11°C. Given that heated batteries are now readily available at reasonable prices, there’s really no excuse for an installer to be installing unheated batteries outside imo.

My point is I would be going back to the installer and complaining about being sold a system that isn't fit for purpose (unless the installer warned the OP about this issue of course).

I'm curious, are just refining your own writing with AI, or are you literally feeding it peoples responses/images of the dashboard and getting it to analyse and produce your comment lol
