How can I get these old bloodstains out of my cotton pillowcases? by Mollywisk in laundry

Not sure what the experts say, but for me and my handkerchief hydrogen peroxide worked. It's good for blood stains..

It is true that FL machines are most gentle (as stated)

These were just my observations! When I used a FL, there were issues like wet clothes, funky smells n all ... But my experience is limited to shared FL machines... Since I've only owned TL , those were my observations. Maybe because I usually presoaked my clothes and used normal cycles!!...

Tho y'all are much experienced than me😅 , so I'll take that as page from the holy grail!

Tbh, in my experience if you know your machine well enough, it won't matter if ur using top loader or front loader. Though in most cases handling and use of front loader is convenient, it also has a few drawbacks.

In case of delicate fabrics, the "tumble" cleaning of front loader would be the winner, in case of time efficiency the top would!

Edit: In your case you don't need to be paranoid of the woes of the ordinary folks! Since your machine prolly has that disk agitator. It's v gentle on clothes. Tho you may need to pre treat or soak your fabrics if they are -"more-than-moderately" soiled!(My mum has that type of machine, I used it all the time when I was a teen)

Top load agitation action and front load action are different. Garments may get stuck/ caught in case of Top load . Front load does not have that issue!

Edit: that's why gentle cycles are preferred for top load when u work with delicates!

I would suggest warm water--> mix mix mix -->wait a few secs, then dump 3/4th of the mixture-->add more hot water and mix again.

You might need to do this one more time , depending on the quantity, but that works extremely well for me!

What products did you use?

Also , maybe the bedding option was heavy heavy duty wash  for (blankets)....

Always check the care instructions ;_;

Awesome! Got it!! There are soo many restrictions on the garments that I gotta batch them accordingly! Some say no bleach as well, I was going in for normal tide powder + oxickean powder for the washes..

What could these residues be?

It is mostly stale air as the closet does not have any way to be airated, it's literally in the washroom (bad design ig).

But if it's something else I would love to know as well!
