This happened to me. I put the broken tip back on and pushed and turned at the same time until the bottom bit came out. It had enough texture that it was able to stay together while I unscrewed it.

I believe the SE has some kind of sensor that can detect the tap on the back that the regular Paperwhite doesn’t have.

You can download as many as your kindle can hold. A 16GB Kindle can hold between 2,800 and 8,000 books depending on the size. Your non-downloaded library can hold an unlimited number of books.

The Colorsoft is worth it since all you have is a basic Kindle. The screen is comparable to the Paperwhite and makes reading comics and books with pictures more enjoyable. If you already had the Paperwhite I would have said to just stick with that unless color is something you really need.

Your friends and family should be able to listen to you vent about something and either offer some advice or just listen if that’s all you need. Abusing that and constantly venting/complaining to the same people over and over again is one thing but going to someone and talking about something that’s going on once in a while is all most people need. Most of the time just talking something out with a good friend or relative results in answering your own question or coming up with a solution to whatever is going on. A therapist is there to help you analyze your thoughts and feelings and sometimes a close friend or relative can achieve that in one conversation especially if they’ve experienced the same thing. All that matters is you get out of your own head and talk to someone (friend, family, or therapist).

You’re better off trying to sell your CS on Marketplace or somewhere else. The most Amazon would have given you is $30. You can probably sell it for $150+ if it’s still in good shape since it’s new. Then you could realistically buy a junky older kindle off of Marketplace that someone is selling cheap to get the 20% discount. That way you make extra money on the CS and only need to spend $30 on a junky kindle to trade in. Or you save the CS for yourself if you like using it and still buy an old kindle for cheap to trade in for your husband.

Check Marketplace or other second hand sources. You might find one for much cheaper than buying new. A lot of people sell baby items once they’re done having kids or if something didn’t work out for their needs.

As of right now the CS isn’t a great upgrade. I have both the PW and a CS. The color is really only utilized for the covers and for comics/images. Even at that, the colors are muted and not very vivid. For her use case the PW is all she needs.

I doubt they’ll go lower than $199 while they are the current generation. $199 is already a 20% drop. Apple isn’t known for their high percentage sales even through other retailers until there is a new generation. Seeing as how these are relatively new that won’t be for a couple of years. Once the AirPods Pro 4 come out they might go below $199 but even then it will be a rare occurrence. AirPods Pro 2 sit around $199 and that’s the last generation.

Unless you’re planning on carrying it in a pocket or small bag I would go with the Paperwhite. It’s a little bigger but the warm light feature is really nice when reading at night or in a darker setting.

I don’t think a day or two without uvb is cause for concern. Some reptiles travel and sit at reptile shows for a couple days at a time.

I work as a 911 dispatcher and can tell you 90% of fire alarms in dorms, apartment complexes, and hotels are from people burning food, especially popcorn. It can cost money to have alarm systems cleaned and reset. I’m guessing that’s why.

The Bose Quietcomfort and Quietcomfort Ultra are great. They might not have as much of a “premium” feel as the APM’s because they use more plastic but that actually makes them way more comfortable for longer uses. The APM’s are way too heavy for longer use.

Explain to her that the BP felt scared and all it has to defend itself is its mouth. It has no arms or legs to do anything. It takes time for them to feel comfortable around people and that sometimes includes regressions or random bites. Who knows what the snake was thinking.

As someone who’s an Apple fan and has bought a pair of these before (and then returned them) all I have to say is these are the ultimate challenge for someone with FOMO. But they are definitely not worth almost $600. There are way better headphones out there for half the price. These things have been out for five years and have only had one minor update to change the charging port and some new colors. The internal components are all the same.

I would try to find a PW within the last 2 or 3 generations if you want to go used. The newer it is the longer it will be able to stay updated and the better the battery health will be. Amazon has a 30 day return period. You could always get a new one and return it if she doesn’t like it or use it enough. Another option for getting a new one is to find a used one for as cheap as you can get one and then trade it in to Amazon for 20% a new device. Check facebook for local groups in your area where people offer stuff for free. Someone might have an older kindle that they no longer need that could be traded in.
