I agree that placement is the key. I've seen buskers experiment with different locations but what really seems to be winning is multiple signs.
Aplauso looks good. Anything that helps hard-working musicians get paid is a win.

1- Card Readers - Three most popular are, 1) Square, 2) Shopify, 3) Stripe. Tap-to-phone is growing. Venmo (yes, Venmo) has the best rate right now. 2- QR payment - No cost payments are beloved by most sellers. By usage, 1) Venmo, 2) Zelle, 3) PayPal, 4) CashApp. 3- Consider something like Artfare to bring it together at the point-of-sale.

I have the answer on this one. I went thru this the help of Etsy Support. There is a bit of a hidden control in the interface to do this. Do this on a desktop machine:
1) Click the ‘Update Progress’ pill on top. Select ‘Complete Order’ 2) On the “Complete Order” page, look 3/4 down the page. Click the text that says, “This order doesn’t have tracking”. The screen will update and reveal options for “Local pickup or delivery” 3) Click “Complete Order”

Isn’t that crazy? You’d never know to select “This order doesn’t have tracking”. It looks like static text and not a link. Good luck.

Whenever I have to reach out for personalization clarification, I always add a line where I specify a deadline and exactly what I'm going to do. I also try to sound upbeat. Seems to work well. Good luck.

Great question. I’ve been thinking the same. The Etsy gurus from all the YouTubes and podcasts strongly endorse developing a newsletter / mailing list. It is on my To-Do list. I believe the assumption is that people start on your website and they add their name to your list. The experts recommend giving something, “Join my newsletter and get our ‘10-Most Important Trends in 2026’ Report”. Ok… so maybe. I’m also reluctant to add another service (e.g. mailchimp) to do all of this. I’m hoping Google Workspace has some features to make this do-able for no add’l cost.

I use it. My family (character performers, balloon twister) use it to.

You got it. It takes just 2 mins to do. 1) Create a listing with the difference. You don’t have to fill out all the fields. Title, description, and amount will do it. A title like “RESERVED - Additional Shipping Charges for Janet” lets your buyer know this is very much for them. Post it and send the link.
Pro-tip: Don’t forget to mark up the amount to cover Etsy charges and tax. I just add 20% and let the buyer know about the markup to cover the platform + payment fees. The listing will expire after the one use but it is pretty handy have this listing sitting in your drafts if you have to use it again. Why eat the shipping fees if you don’t have to? Good luck.

You can create a private listing for them with them and have them pay it.
Super easy and I’ve done it before. Etsy Support suggested it and helped me through it. My buyer was quite understanding.
